Journal ArticleDOI
Whole-genome sequence of a flatfish provides insights into ZW sex chromosome evolution and adaptation to a benthic lifestyle
Songlin Chen,Guojie Zhang,Changwei Shao,Quanfei Huang,Geng Liu,Pei Zhang,Wentao Song,Na An,Domitille Chalopin,Jean-Nicolas Volff,Yunhan Hong,Qiye Li,Zhenxia Sha,Heling Zhou,Mingshu Xie,Qiulin Yu,Yang Liu,Hui Xiang,Na Wang,Kui Wu,Yang Changgeng,Qian Zhou,Xiaolin Liao,Linfeng Yang,Qiaomu Hu,Jilin Zhang,Liang Meng,Lijun Jin,Yongsheng Tian,Jinmin Lian,Jing-Feng Yang,Guidong Miao,Shanshan Liu,Zhuo Liang,Fang Yan,Yangzhen Li,Bin Sun,Hong Zhang,Jing Zhang,Ying Zhu,Min Du,Yongwei Zhao,Manfred Schartl,Qi-Sheng Tang,Jun Wang +44 more
TL;DR: It is found that massive gene loss occurred in the wake of sex-chromosome 'birth' in Cynoglossus semilaevis, and the sex chromosomes of these fish are derived from the same ancestral vertebrate protochromosome as the avian W and Z chromosomes.
Journal ArticleDOI
A Genome Scan for Quantitative Trait Loci Associated with Vibrio anguillarum Infection Resistance in Japanese Flounder (Paralichthys olivaceus) by Bulked Segregant Analysis
Lei Wang,Caixia Fan,Yang Liu,Yingping Zhang,Shoutang Liu,Deqiang Sun,Han Deng,Ying Xu,Yongsheng Tian,Xiaolin Liao,Mingshu Xie,Wenlong Li,Song-Lin Chen +12 more
TL;DR: The common QTL may be a major candidate region for disease resistance against V. anguillarum infection in Japanese flounder and explain more than 60 % of the phenotypic variance.
Journal ArticleDOI
Establishment and characterization of a new fish cell line from head kidney of half-smooth tongue sole (Cynoglossus semilaevis).
TL;DR: A new cell line (TSHKC) derived from half-smooth tongue sole (Cynoglossus semilaevis) head kidney was developed and was found to be susceptible to lymphocystis disease virus.

Building method of fish head and kidney tissue derived cell lines
TL;DR: In this article, a method of fish head and kidney tissue derived cell lines and the obtained cell lines were obtained by performing a primary culture and a subculture for the treated fish heads and kidney tissues, wherein an employed cell culture medium was prepared by adding fetal calf serum, sodium pyruvate, 2-mercaptoethanol and a human basic fibroblast growth factor into a basic cell-culture medium.
