Whole-genome sequence of a flatfish provides insights into ZW sex chromosome evolution and adaptation to a benthic lifestyle
Songlin Chen,Guojie Zhang,Changwei Shao,Quanfei Huang,Geng Liu,Pei Zhang,Wentao Song,Na An,Domitille Chalopin,Jean-Nicolas Volff,Yunhan Hong,Qiye Li,Zhenxia Sha,Heling Zhou,Mingshu Xie,Qiulin Yu,Yang Liu,Hui Xiang,Na Wang,Kui Wu,Yang Changgeng,Qian Zhou,Xiaolin Liao,Linfeng Yang,Qiaomu Hu,Jilin Zhang,Liang Meng,Lijun Jin,Yongsheng Tian,Jinmin Lian,Jing-Feng Yang,Guidong Miao,Shanshan Liu,Zhuo Liang,Fang Yan,Yangzhen Li,Bin Sun,Hong Zhang,Jing Zhang,Ying Zhu,Min Du,Yongwei Zhao,Manfred Schartl,Qi-Sheng Tang,Jun Wang +44 more
TL;DR: It is found that massive gene loss occurred in the wake of sex-chromosome 'birth' in Cynoglossus semilaevis, and the sex chromosomes of these fish are derived from the same ancestral vertebrate protochromosome as the avian W and Z chromosomes.
Journal ArticleDOI
The tiger genome and comparative analysis with lion and snow leopard genomes
Yun Sung Cho,Li Hu,Haolong Hou,Hang Lee,Jiaohui Xu,Soowhan Kwon,Sukhun Oh,Hak-Min Kim,Sungwoong Jho,Sangsoo Kim,Young Ah Shin,Byung Chul Kim,Hyunmin Kim,Chang Uk Kim,Shu-Jin Luo,Warren E. O'Brien,Stephen J. O'Brien,Jun Wang,Jun Wang,Jong Bhak +60 more
TL;DR: Comparison genetic analyses of the genomes of a white Bengal tiger, African lion, white African lion and snow leopard find genetic signatures that may reflect molecular adaptations consistent with the big cats’ hypercarnivorous diet and muscle strength.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ketogenic diet poses a significant effect on imbalanced gut microbiota in infants with refractory epilepsy.
Gan Xie,Qian Zhou,Chuangzhao Qiu,Wenkui Dai,Heping Wang,Yinhu Li,Jian-Xiang Liao,Xinguo Lu,Sufang Lin,Jing-Hua Ye,Zhuo-Ya Ma,Wenjian Wang +11 more
TL;DR: KD could significantly modify symptoms of epilepsy and reshape the GM of epileptic infants and GM pattern in healthy infants differed dramatically from that of the epileptic group.
Journal ArticleDOI
Gekko japonicus genome reveals evolution of adhesive toe pads and tail regeneration
Yan Liu,Qian Zhou,Yongjun Wang,Longhai Luo,Jian Yang,Linfeng Yang,Mei Liu,Yingrui Li,Tianmei Qian,Yuan Zheng,Meiyuan Li,Jiang Li,Yun Gu,Zujing Han,Man Xu,Yingjie Wang,Changlai Zhu,Bin Yu,Yumin Yang,Fei Ding,Jianping Jiang,Huanming Yang,Xiaosong Gu +22 more
TL;DR: Comparative genomic analysis reveals specific gene family expansions or reductions that are associated with the formation of adhesive setae, nocturnal vision and tail regeneration, as well as the diversification of olfactory sensation that provide robust genetic evidence of adaptive evolution in reptiles.
Journal ArticleDOI
Protective effect of Bifidobacterium infantis CGMCC313-2 on ovalbumin-induced airway asthma and β-lactoglobulin-induced intestinal food allergy mouse models
Meng-Yun Liu,Zhenyu Yang,Wenkui Dai,Jian-Qiong Huang,Li Yinhu,Juan Zhang,Chuangzhao Qiu,Chun Wei,Qian Zhou,Xin Sun,Xin Feng,Dongfang Li,Heping Wang,Yuejie Zheng +13 more
TL;DR: Oral administration of B. infantis CGMCC313-2 inhibits the secretion of allergen-induced IgE, IL-4 and IL-13, and attenuates allergic inflammation, while the proportion of infiltrating inflammatory cells was significantly decreased in the BALF of allergic asthma mice.
