Journal ArticleDOI
Hepatoprotective effects of Gentiana asclepiadea L. extracts against carbon tetrachloride induced liver injury in rats
Vladimir Mihailović,Mirjana Mihailović,Aleksandra Uskoković,Jelena Arambašić,Danijela Mišić,Vesna Stanković,Jelena Katanić,Milan Mladenović,Slavica Solujic,Sanja Matić +9 more
TL;DR: It could be concluded that the use of G. asclepiadea extracts in the treatment of chemical-induced hepatotoxicity is safe and effective.
Journal ArticleDOI
In vitro antioxidant activity of selected 4-hydroxy-chromene-2-one derivatives-SAR, QSAR and DFT studies.
Milan Mladenović,Mirjana Mihailović,Desanka Bogojević,Sanja Matić,Neda Niciforovic,Vladimir Mihailović,Nenad Vuković,Slobodan Sukdolak,Slavica Solujic +8 more
TL;DR: Bond dissociation enthalpies of coumarin 4-OH, Natural Bond Orbital (NBO) gained hybridization of the oxygen, acidity of the hydrogen atom and various molecular descriptors obtained, were correlated with biological activity, after which 20 new antioxidant structures were designed, using the most favorable structural motifs, with much improved predicted activity in vitro.
Journal ArticleDOI
Methanol extract from the stem of Cotinus coggygria Scop., and its major bioactive phytochemical constituent myricetin modulate pyrogallol-induced DNA damage and liver injury.
Sanja Matić,Snežana Stanić,Desanka Bogojević,Melita Vidaković,Nevena Grdović,Svetlana Dinić,Slavica Solujic,Milan Mladenović,Nevena Stanković,Mirjana Mihailović +9 more
TL;DR: The results suggest that pro-surviving Akt activity and STAT3 protein expression play important roles in decreasing DNA damage and in mediating hepatic protection by the methanol extract of C. coggygria against pyrogallol-induced toxicity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Antioxidative effects of phenolic extracts from chestnut leaves, catkins and spiny burs in streptozotocin-treated rat pancreatic β-cells
Aida Mujić,Nevena Grdović,Ibrahim Mujić,Mirjana Mihailović,Jelena Živković,Goran Poznanović,Melita Vidaković +6 more
TL;DR: It was concluded that chestnut extracts increased cell viability after STZ treatment as a result of their antioxidative properties.
Journal ArticleDOI
Alpha-lipoic acid upregulates antioxidant enzyme gene expression and enzymatic activity in diabetic rat kidneys through an O-GlcNAc-dependent mechanism.
Jelena Arambašić,Mirjana Mihailović,Aleksandra Uskoković,Svetlana Dinić,Nevena Grdović,Jelena Markovic,Goran Poznanović,Djordje Bajec,Melita Vidaković +8 more
TL;DR: α-Lipoic acid administration activates a coordinated cytoprotective response against diabetes-induced oxidative injury in kidney tissue through an O-GlcNAc-dependent mechanism.
