Journal ArticleDOI
Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease is a novel predictor of cardiovascular disease
Masahide Hamaguchi,Takao Kojima,Noriyuki Takeda,Chisato Nagata,Jun Takeda,Hiroshi Sarui,Yutaka Kawahito,Naohisa Yoshida,Atsushi Suetsugu,Takahiro Kato,Junichi Okuda,Kazunori Ida,Toshikazu Yoshikawa +12 more
TL;DR: NAFLD is a strong predictor of cardiovascular disease and may play a central role in the cardiovascular risk of MS, and simultaneous inclusion of NAFLD and MS in a multivariate model revealed that NA FLD but not MS retained a statistically significant correlation with cardiovascular disease.
Journal ArticleDOI
Narrow-band imaging (NBI) magnifying endoscopic classification of colorectal tumors proposed by the Japan NBI Expert Team.
Yasushi Sano,Shinji Tanaka,Shin-ei Kudo,Shoichi Saito,Takahisa Matsuda,Yoshiki Wada,Takahiro Fujii,Hiroaki Ikematsu,Toshio Uraoka,Nozomu Kobayashi,Hisashi Nakamura,Kinichi Hotta,Takahiro Horimatsu,Naoto Sakamoto,Kuang-I Fu,Osamu Tsuruta,Hiroshi Kawano,Hiroshi Kashida,Yoji Takeuchi,Hirohisa Machida,Toshihiro Kusaka,Naohisa Yoshida,Ichiro Hirata,Takeshi Terai,Hiro-o Yamano,Kazuhiro Kaneko,Takeshi Nakajima,Taku Sakamoto,Yuichiro Yamaguchi,Naoto Tamai,Naoko Nakano,Nana Hayashi,Shiro Oka,Mineo Iwatate,Hideki Ishikawa,Yoshitaka Murakami,Shigeaki Yoshida,Yutaka Saito +37 more
TL;DR: The Japan NBI Expert Team was constituted with the aim of establishing a universal NBI magnifying endoscopic classification for colorectal tumors (JNET classification) in 2011, and consensus was reached on this classification using the modified Delphi method in June 2014.
Journal ArticleDOI
Differences in gut microbiota associated with age, sex, and stool consistency in healthy Japanese subjects.
Tomohisa Takagi,Yuji Naito,Ryo Inoue,Saori Kashiwagi,Kazuhiko Uchiyama,Katsura Mizushima,Saeko Tsuchiya,Osamu Dohi,Naohisa Yoshida,Kazuhiro Kamada,Takeshi Ishikawa,Osamu Handa,Hideyuki Konishi,Kayo Okuda,Yoshimasa Tsujimoto,Hiromu Ohnogi,Yoshito Itoh +16 more
TL;DR: Several changes in gut microbiota were associated with age and sex, and the importance of stool consistency assessments to understand intestinal function was emphasized.
Journal ArticleDOI
Systematic review and meta-analysis of endoscopic submucosal dissection versus transanal endoscopic microsurgery for large noninvasive rectal lesions
Alberto Arezzo,Roberto Passera,Yutaka Saito,Taku Sakamoto,Nozomu Kobayashi,Naoto Sakamoto,Naohisa Yoshida,Yuji Naito,Mitsuhiro Fujishiro,Keiko Niimi,Tomohiko R. Ohya,Ken Ohata,Shinichi Okamura,Shinei Iizuka,Yoji Takeuchi,Noriya Uedo,Pietro Fusaroli,Marco Augusto Bonino,M. Verra,Mario Morino +19 more
TL;DR: The ESD procedure appears to be a safe technique, but TEM achieves a higher R0 resection rate when performed in full-thickness fashion, significantly reducing the need for further abdominal treatment.
Journal ArticleDOI
The ability of a novel blue laser imaging system for the diagnosis of invasion depth of colorectal neoplasms
Naohisa Yoshida,Takashi Hisabe,Yutaka Inada,Munehiro Kugai,Nobuaki Yagi,Fumihito Hirai,Kenshi Yao,Toshiyuki Matsui,Akinori Iwashita,Mototsugu Kato,Akio Yanagisawa,Yuji Naito +11 more
TL;DR: BLI magnification by laser source could predict histopathological diagnosis and invasion depth of colorectal neoplasms and the diagnostic effectiveness of this method was similar to that of NBI magnification.
