VLT‐MAD observations of the core of 30 Doradus
M. A. Campbell,Chris Evans,Chris Evans,Alasdair Mackey,Mark Gieles,João Alves,Joana Ascenso,Nate Bastian,Andy Longmore +8 more
TL;DR: In this article, H- and Ks-band imaging of three fields at the center of 30 Doradus in the Large Magellanic Cloud, obtained as part of the Science Demonstration programme with the Multi-conjugate Adaptive optics Demonstrator (MAD) at the Very Large Telescope, is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
Gemini Spectroscopic Survey of Young Star Clusters in Merging/Interacting Galaxies. II. NGC 3256 Clusters
TL;DR: Gemini optical spectroscopy of 23 young star clusters in NGC3256 is presented in this article, where the authors find that the cluster ages range from few Myr to ~150 Myr and that the majority of the clusters follow the same rotation curve as the gas and hence were presumably formed in the molecular-gas disk.
Journal ArticleDOI
Constraining globular cluster formation through studies of young massive clusters - III. A lack of gas and dust in massive stellar clusters in the LMC and SMC
Nate Bastian,Jay Strader +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors search for gas and dust within 12 LMC (and 1 SMC) clusters and also for dust using the Spitzer 70 and 160 micron images, but no clusters were found to contain gas and/or dust.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Search for Multiple Populations in Magellanic Cloud Clusters I: Two Stellar Populations in the Small Magellanic Cloud Globular Cluster NGC 121
Florian Niederhofer,Nate Bastian,Vera Kozhurina-Platais,S. S. Larsen,Maurizio Salaris,Emanuele Dalessandro,Alessio Mucciarelli,I. Cabrera-Ziri,I. Cabrera-Ziri,M. Cordero,Doug Geisler,Michael Hilker,K. Hollyhead,N. Kacharov,Carmela Lardo,Chengyuan Li,D. Mackey,Imants Platais +17 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a photometric survey using the WFC3/UVIS instrument onboard the Hubble Space Telescope to search for multiple populations within Magellanic Cloud star clusters at various ages was conducted.
Journal ArticleDOI
Sizes and shapes of young star cluster light profiles in M83
J. E. Ryon,Nate Bastian,Angela Adamo,Iraklis S. Konstantopoulos,John S. Gallagher,S. S. Larsen,K. Hollyhead,E. Silva-Villa,Linda J. Smith +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors measured the radii and two-dimensional light profiles of a large sample of young, massive star clusters in M83 using archival HST/Wide Field Camera 3 (WFC3) imaging of seven adjacent fields.
