Photometric characterization of multiple populations in star clusters: the impact of the first dredge-up

TL;DR: In this paper, the impact of the first dredge-up on the surface chemical patterns of red giant branch (RGB) stars has been investigated, and it was shown that for a given initial range of light element abundances, the dredge up reduces the predicted RGB widths in N-sensitive filters compared to the case when its effect on the stellar spectral energy distributions is not accounted for.
Journal ArticleDOI

Gemini Spectroscopic Survey of Young Star Clusters in Merging/Interacting Galaxies. IV. Stephan's Quintet

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present a spectroscopic survey of 21 young massive clusters and complexes and one tidal dwarf galaxy candidate (TDG) in Stephan's Quintet, an interacting compact group of galaxies.

Cluster Disruption: From Infant Mortality to Long Term Survival

Nate Bastian
TL;DR: The theory and observations of cluster disruption are reviewed, both the suggested initial rapid dissolution phase (infant mortality) and the longer timescale processes that affect clusters after they emerge from their progenitor GMCs are reviewed.
Journal ArticleDOI

A Multiwavelength View of Star Formation in Interacting Galaxies in the Pavo Group

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors combine Spitzer IRAC mid-infrared and ChandraX-ray observations of the dominant galaxies NGC 6872 and NGC6876 in the Pavo group with archival optical and HI data to study interaction-induced star formation.
