Journal ArticleDOI
Dengue virus targets RBM10 deregulating host cell splicing and innate immune response
Berta Pozzi,Berta Pozzi,Laureano Bragado,Laureano Bragado,Pablo Mammi,Pablo Mammi,Maria Florencia Torti,Maria Florencia Torti,Nicolás Gaioli,Nicolás Gaioli,Leopoldo German Gebhard,Martín E García Solá,Martín E García Solá,Rita Vaz-Drago,Nestor Gabriel Iglesias,Cybele C. García,Cybele C. García,Andrea V. Gamarnik,Anabella Srebrow,Anabella Srebrow +19 more
TL;DR: It is proposed RBM10 fulfills diverse pro-inflammatory, anti-viral tasks, besides its well-documented role in splicing regulation of apoptotic genes, and interacts with viral RNA and RIG-I, and even promotes the ubiquitination of the latter, a crucial step for its activation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Discovery of novel dengue virus entry inhibitors via a structure-based approach.
Emilse Soledad Leal,M. Gabriela Aucar,Leopoldo German Gebhard,Nestor Gabriel Iglesias,María José Pascual,Juan José Casal,Andrea V. Gamarnik,Claudio N. Cavasotto,Mariela Bollini +8 more
TL;DR: Preliminary docking-based virtual screening was performed to identify small molecules that likely bind to the β-OG binding site and molecular dynamics simulations were used in an attempt to characterize the interaction of 2 with protein E, thus paving the way for future ligand optimization endeavors.
Journal ArticleDOI
SARS-CoV-2 surveillance in untreated wastewater: detection of viral RNA in a low-resource community in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Nestor Gabriel Iglesias,Leopoldo Germán Gebhard,Leopoldo Germán Gebhard,Juan Manuel Carballeda,Juan Manuel Carballeda,Ignacio Aiello,Ignacio Aiello,Emiliano Recalde,Gabriel Terny,Silvina Ambrosolio,Gabriela L'Arco,Jonatan Konfino,Juan Ignacio Brardinelli +12 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors measured SARS-CoV-2 RNA in sewage in a low-resource community in order to determine if it can be considered as an estimator of changes in the prevalence of COVID-19 in the population.
Journal ArticleDOI
Complete Genome Sequencing of Lactobacillus plantarum UNQLp 11 Isolated from a Patagonian Pinot Noir Wine
Nestor Gabriel Iglesias,Natalia S. Brizuela,E. E. Tymczyszyn,Axel Hollmann,D. Valdés La Hens,Liliana Semorile,Bárbara M. Bravo-Ferrada +6 more
TL;DR: The in silico genome-wide analysis allowed us to confirm the existence of genes encoding enzymes involved in the synthesis of several metabolites of oenological interest, in addition to bacteriocins and exopolysaccharides, suggesting the potential of UNQLp 11 to be a good starter culture for malolactic fermentation.
Journal ArticleDOI
A rapid and simple protocol for concentration of SARS-CoV-2 from sewage.
Diana Patricia Wehrendt,Mariana Massó,Adrian Gonzales Machuca,Claudia V Vargas,Melina Elizabeth Barrios,Josefina Campos,Damian Costamagna,Luis Bruzzone,Daniel Cisterna,Nestor Gabriel Iglesias,Viviana Andrea Mbayed,Elsa Baumeister,Daniela Centrón,María Paula Quiroga,Leonardo Erijman,Leonardo Erijman +15 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a simple protocol to concentrate SARS-CoV-2 from sewage, which can be implemented in laboratories with minimal equipment resources, is presented. But the method is limited to a single step, in which a small volume (40 mL) of sewage sample is incubated with polyaluminum chloride (PAC).
