Jones,David Etheridge,Mauro Rubino,Mauro Rubino,Mauro Rubino,David Thornton,Siwan M. Davies,Christopher Bronk Ramsey,Zoë Thomas,Michael I. Bird,Niels C. Munksgaard,Niels C. TL;DR: A blue-ice record of ice sheet and environmental change from the Weddell Sea Embayment at the periphery of the marine-based West Antarctic Ice Sheet (WAIS), which is underlain by major methane hydrate reserves is reported.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Onset and Rate of Holocene Neoglacial Cooling in the Arctic

North Atlantic-Fennoscandian Holocene climate trends and mechanisms
Hans Petter Sejrup,Heikki Seppä,Nicholas P. McKay,Darrell S. Kaufman,Áslaug Geirsdóttir,Áslaug Geirsdóttir,Anne de Vernal,Hans Renssen,Katrine Husum,Anne E. Jennings,John T. Andrews +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper, principal component analysis (PCA) was used to investigate the mechanisms behind Holocene regional climate trends from north of 58°N in the North Atlantic-Fennoscandian region.
Journal ArticleDOI
A Wetter Arctic Coincident With Hemispheric Warming 8,000 Years Ago
Elizabeth K. Thomas,Elizabeth K. Thomas,Isla S. Castañeda,Nicholas P. McKay,Jason P. Briner,Jeffrey M. Salacup,K. Nguyen,Avriel D. Schweinsberg +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a subcentennial-resolution multiproxy lake sediment record from western Greenland sheds light on these mechanisms and provides independent support for predictions of both enhanced local evaporation and increased poleward moisture transport causing wetter Arctic summers in step with global ocean and atmosphere warming.
Journal ArticleDOI
Technical note: The Linked Paleo Data framework – a common tongue for paleoclimatology
TL;DR: A preliminary data standard for paleoclimate data is proposed, general enough to accommodate all the archive and measurement types encountered in a large international collaboration (PAGES 2k), and a vehicle for such structured data is introduced (Linked Paleo Data, or LiPD), leveraging recent advances in knowledge representation.
