Synthesis and Electronic Ground-State Properties of Pyrrolyl-Based Iron Pincer Complexes: Revisited

TL;DR: The experimental findings are complemented by density functional theory computations, which reveal a low-lying (S = 2) excited state for complex 1; furthermore, the computed Mössbauer parameters for all complexes studied herein are in excellent agreement with the experimental findings.

Pyrrolyl-based pincer complexes of iron – Synthesis and electronic structure

TL;DR: In this article, four and five-coordinate high-spin (S = 2) Fe(II) complexes bearing the pyrrolyl-derived tBuPNP pincer ligand were characterized by X-ray diffraction and zero-field 57Fe Mossbauer spectroscopy.
