Journal ArticleDOI
Environmental Control of Charge Density Wave Order in Monolayer 2H-TaS2.
Joshua Hall,Niels Ehlen,Jan Berges,Erik G. C. P. van Loon,Camiel van Efferen,Clifford Murray,Malte Rösner,Jun Li,Boris V. Senkovskiy,Martin Hell,Matthias Rolf,Tristan Heider,Maria C. Asensio,José Avila,Lukasz Plucinski,Tim O. Wehling,Alexander Grüneis,Thomas Michely +17 more
TL;DR: Calculations of the phonon dispersions based on a combination of density- functional theory, density-functional perturbation theory, and many-body perturbations theory enable us to provide phase diagrams for the TaS2 charge density wave as functions of doping, hybridization and interlayer potentials, and offer insight into how they affect lattice dynamics and stability.
Journal ArticleDOI
Quasi-two-dimensional thermoelectricity in SnSe
V. Tayari,Boris V. Senkovskiy,D. Rybkovskiy,Niels Ehlen,A. V. Fedorov,A. V. Fedorov,C.-Y. Chen,José Avila,M. C. Asensio,Andrea Perucchi,P. Di Pietro,Lada V. Yashina,Ibrahim Fakih,N. Hemsworth,Matei Petrescu,Guillaume Gervais,Alexander Grüneis,Thomas Szkopek +17 more
TL;DR: In this article, angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy, optical reflection spectrograms, and magnetotransport measurements reveal a multiple-valley valence band structure and a quasi-two-dimensional dispersion, realizing a Hicks-Dresselhaus thermoelectric contributing to the high Seebeck coefficient at high carrier density.
Journal ArticleDOI
Boron-Doped Graphene Nanoribbons: Electronic Structure and Raman Fingerprint
Boris V. Senkovskiy,Dmitry Yu. Usachov,Alexander V. Fedorov,Alexander V. Fedorov,Tomas Marangoni,Danny Haberer,Cesare Tresca,Cesare Tresca,Gianni Profeta,Vasile Caciuc,Shigeru Tsukamoto,Nicolae Atodiresei,Niels Ehlen,Chaoyu Chen,José Avila,Maria C. Asensio,Andrei Varykhalov,Alexei Nefedov,Christof Wöll,Timur K. Kim,Moritz Hoesch,Felix R. Fischer,Felix R. Fischer,Alexander Grüneis +23 more
TL;DR: The hybridized electronic structure of the B-7AGNR-Au interface is expected to improve electrical characteristics of contacts between graphene nanoribbon and Au and the Raman fingerprint allows the easy identification of B- 7AGNRs, which is particularly useful for device fabrication.
Journal ArticleDOI
Direct observation of a surface resonance state and surface band inversion control in black phosphorus
Niels Ehlen,Antonio Sanna,Boris V. Senkovskiy,Luca Petaccia,Alexander Fedorov,Gianni Profeta,Alexander Grüneis +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, a Cs-doping-induced band inversion and the direct observation of a surface resonance state with an elliptical Fermi surface in black phosphorus (BP) using angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy were reported.
Journal ArticleDOI
Charge density wave phase of VSe 2 revisited
Wouter Jolie,Wouter Jolie,Timo Knispel,Niels Ehlen,Konstantin Nikonov,Konstantin Nikonov,Carsten Busse,Carsten Busse,Carsten Busse,Alexander Grüneis,Thomas Michely +10 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a narrow partial gap at the Fermi level is associated with the charge density wave phase, which is consistent with the Peierls model of surface nesting, under the assumption of weak electron-phonon coupling.
