Journal ArticleDOI
Genes and channels: patch/voltage-clamp analysis and single-cell RT-PCR.
TL;DR: This review presents an analysis of the results of work obtained by using a combination of whole-cell patch-clamp recording or two-electrode voltage clamp and SC-RT-PCR with emphasis on its potential and limitations for quantitative analysis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Redox state, NMDA receptors and no-related species
Journal ArticleDOI
An in vitro study of anti-inflammatory activity of standardised Andrographis paniculata extracts and pure andrographolide
TL;DR: Standardised A. paniculata extracts contained the claimed amount of andrographolide but exhibited considerable phytochemical background variation, and the inhibition of tumor necrosis factor alpha in the human monocytic cell line THP-1 was little affected by the quantitative variation of the non-standardised constituents.
Journal ArticleDOI
A DNA microarray for the authentication of toxic traditional Chinese medicinal plants.
Maria C. Carles,M.K.L. Cheung,Shanti Moganti,Tina T. X. Dong,Karl Wah Keung Tsim,Nancy Y. Ip,Nikolaus J. Sucher +6 more
TL;DR: Chip-based authentication of medicinal plants may be useful as inexpensive and rapid tool for quality control and safety monitoring of herbal pharmaceuticals and neutraceuticals.
Journal ArticleDOI
Neural nicotinic acetylcholine responses in sensory neurons from postnatal rat.
TL;DR: Results show that postnatal DRG cells express functional nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChR) of a neuronal type.
