TL;DR: The A. fulgidus genome encodes functionally uncharacterized yet conserved proteins, two-thirds of which are shared with M. jannaschii (428 ORFs), indicating substantial archaeal gene diversity.
Journal ArticleDOI

Journal ArticleDOI
A robust method for the amplification of RNA in the sense orientation.
TL;DR: This protocol is based upon Eberwine's method but incorporates elements of more recent amplification techniques while avoiding their complexities, and yields greater than 100-fold amplification, generates long transcript, and produces mRNA that is well suited for use with microarray applications.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Schistosoma mansoni gene index: gene discovery and biology by reconstruction and analysis of expressed gene sequences.
Joseph M. Merrick,Ahmed Osman,Jennifer Tsai,John Quackenbush,Philip T. LoVerde,Norman H. Lee +5 more
TL;DR: The utility of EST analysis is demonstrated by identifying new protease genes, which may be involved in hemoglobin degradation, in the Schistosoma mansoni transcriptome.
Journal ArticleDOI
A novel rearrangement of fluorescent human thymidylate synthase inhibitor analogues in ESI tandem mass spectrometry
TL;DR: Cu(I) catalyzed alkyne-azide cycloaddition reaction was employed to synthesize a series of anthracene-based human thymidylate synthase (hTS) inhibitor analogues and a novel rearrangement reaction in ESI-MS/MS was observed.
