Journal ArticleDOI

Liposcale: a novel advanced lipoprotein test based on 2D diffusion-ordered 1H NMR spectroscopy.

TL;DR: The Liposcale test, a novel ALT based on 2D diffusion-ordered 1H NMR spectroscopy, provides reproducible and reliable characterization of lipoprotein particles and it is applicable to pathological states such as AD.
Journal ArticleDOI

Title: Human Serum/Plasma Glycoprotein Analysis by 1H-NMR, an Emerging Method of Inflammatory Assessment.

TL;DR: The applications reviewed here demonstrated that GlycA was potentially a key biomarker in a wide range of diseases such as cancer, metabolic diseases, cardiovascular risk, and chronic inflammatory diseases among others and launches an encouraging new paradigm for its future incorporation in clinical diagnosis.
Journal ArticleDOI

LDL particle size and composition and incident cardiovascular disease in a South-European population: The Hortega-Liposcale Follow-up Study.

TL;DR: LD particles showed the strongest association with cardiovascular events when the particle composition, rather than the total concentration, was investigated, and a change in baseline composition of LDL particles from large to medium and small LDL particles was associated with an increased cardiovascular risk, especially for CHD.
Journal ArticleDOI

HDL Triglycerides: A New Marker of Metabolic and Cardiovascular Risk

TL;DR: Plasma HDL-TG concentrations were higher as metabolic syndrome components increased and was also higher with worsening glucose metabolism, and patients with carotid plaques also showed higher HDL- TG.
Journal ArticleDOI

Circulating PCSK9 in patients with type 2 diabetes and related metabolic disorders

TL;DR: PCSK9 plasma levels are increased in patients with type 2 diabetes and MetS patients and are associated with LDL-C and other parameters of AD and glucose metabolism.
