Journal ArticleDOI
Impaired type I interferon activity and inflammatory responses in severe COVID-19 patients.
Jérôme Hadjadj,Nader Yatim,Laura Barnabei,Aurélien Corneau,Jeremy Boussier,Nikaïa Smith,Hélène Péré,Bruno Charbit,Vincent Bondet,Camille Chenevier-Gobeaux,Paul Breillat,Nicolas Carlier,Rémy Gauzit,Caroline Morbieu,Frédéric Pène,Nathalie Marin,Nicolas Roche,Tali Anne Szwebel,Sarah H. Merkling,Jean-Marc Treluyer,David Veyer,Luc Mouthon,Catherine Blanc,Pierre-Louis Tharaux,Flore Rozenberg,Alain Fischer,Alain Fischer,Alain Fischer,Darragh Duffy,Frédéric Rieux-Laucat,Solen Kernéis,Solen Kernéis,Benjamin Terrier +32 more
TL;DR: The results of this trio of studies suggest that the location, timing, and duration of IFN exposure are critical parameters underlying the success or failure of therapeutics for viral respiratory infections.

Impaired type I interferon activity and exacerbated inflammatory responses in severe Covid-19 patients
Jérôme Hadjadj,Nader Yatim,Laura Barnabei,Aurélien Corneau,Jeremy Boussier,Hélène Péré,Bruno Charbit,Vincent Bondet,Camille Chenevier-Gobeaux,Paul Breillat,Nicolas Carlier,Remy Gauzit,Caroline Morbieu,Frédéric Pène,Nathalie Marin,Nicolas Roche,Tali-Anne Szwebel,Nikaïa Smith,Sarah H. Merkling,Jean-Marc Treluyer,David Veyer,Luc Mouthon,Catherine Blanc,Pierre-Louis Tharaux,Flore Rozenberg,Alain Fischer,Darragh Duffy,Frédéric Rieux-Laucat,Solen Kernéis,Benjamin Terrier +29 more
TL;DR: It is proposed that type-I IFN deficiency in the blood is a hallmark of severe Covid-19 and could identify and define a high-risk population and raise concern for utilization of drugs that interfere with the IFN pathway.
Journal ArticleDOI
BNT162b2 vaccine-induced humoral and cellular responses against SARS-CoV-2 variants in systemic lupus erythematosus.
Q. Moyon,Delphine Sterlin,Makoto Miyara,François Anna,Alexis Mathian,Raphael Lhote,Pascale Ghillani-Dalbin,Paul Breillat,Sasi Mudumba,Sophia de Alba,Fleur Cohen-Aubart,Julien Haroche,Micheline Pha,Thi Huong Du Boutin,Hedi Chaieb,Pedro Macedo Flores,Pierre Charneau,Guy Gorochov,Zahir Amoura +18 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors evaluated systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) disease activity and SARS-CoV-2-specific immune responses after BNT162b2 vaccination.
Journal ArticleDOI
Lower disease activity but higher risk of severe COVID-19 and herpes zoster in patients with systemic lupus erythematosus with pre-existing autoantibodies neutralising IFN-α
Alexis Mathian,Paul Breillat,Karim Dorgham,Paul Bastard,Caroline Charre,Raphael Lhote,Paul Quentric,Q. Moyon,Alice-Andrée Mariaggi,S. Mouries-Martin,Clara Mellot,François Anna,Julien Haroche,Fleur Cohen-Aubart,Delphine Sterlin,Noël Zahr,A Gervais,Tom Le Voyer,Lucy Bizien,Quentin Amiot,Micheline Pha,Miguel Hie,François Chasset,Hans Yssel,Makoto Miyara,Pierre Charneau,Pascale Ghillani-Dalbin,Jean-Laurent Casanova,Flore Rozenberg,Zahir Amoura,Guy Gorochov +30 more
TL;DR: The production of non-neutralising and neutralising anti-IFn-I antibodies in SLE is likely to be a consequence of SLE-associated high IFN-I serum levels, with a beneficial effect on disease activity, yet a greater viral risk.
Journal ArticleDOI
Autoimmunity associated with Erdheim-Chester disease improves with BRAF/MEK inhibitors.
Anaïs Roeser,Fleur Cohen-Aubart,Paul Breillat,Makoto Miyara,Jean-François Emile,Frédéric Charlotte,Jean Donadieu,Zahir Amoura,Julien Haroche +8 more
TL;DR: Erdheim-Chester disease is a rare non-Langerhans cell histiocytosis characterized by the infiltration of various tissues by CD68-positive (+), CD1a-negative (−) spumous histiocytes.
