Journal ArticleDOI
Impact of hematologic malignancy and type of cancer therapy on COVID-19 severity and mortality: lessons from a large population-based registry study.
J. Garcia-Suarez,Javier de la Cruz,Ángel Cedillo,Pilar Llamas,Rafael F. Duarte,Víctor Jiménez-Yuste,Jose Angel Hernandez-Rivas,Rodrigo Gil-Manso,Mi Kwon,Mi Kwon,Pedro Sánchez-Godoy,Pilar Martínez-Barranco,Blanca Colás-Lahuerta,Pilar Herrera,Laurentino Benito-Parra,Adrian Alegre,Alberto Velasco,Arturo Matilla,María Concepción Aláez-Usón,Rafael Martos-Martínez,Carmen Martínez-Chamorro,Keina Susana-Quiroz,Juan F del Campo,Adolfo de la Fuente,Regina Herráez,Adriana Pascual,E. Gómez,Jaime Pérez-Oteyza,Elena Ruiz,Arancha Alonso,José González-Medina,Lucía Núñez Martín-Buitrago,Miguel Canales,Isabel González-Gascón,María Carmen Vicente-Ayuso,Susana Valenciano,María García Roa,Pablo Estival Monteliu,Javier López-Jiménez,Cristian Escolano Escobar,Javier Ortiz-Martín,José Luis Díez-Martín,José Luis Díez-Martín,Joaquin Martinez-Lopez +43 more
TL;DR: Mortality was associated with higher age, more comorbidities, type of hematological malignancy and type of antineoplastic therapy, and further studies and long-term follow-up are required to validate these criteria for risk stratification.
Journal ArticleDOI
Influence of biologic markers on the outcome of Hodgkin's lymphoma: a study by the Spanish Hodgkin's Lymphoma Study Group.
Carlos Montalbán,Juan F. García,Víctor Abraira,Leocricia González-Camacho,Manuel M. Morente,Jose Luis Bello,Eulogio Conde,Miguel A. Cruz,Ramón García-Sanz,José García-Laraña,Carlos Grande,Marta Llanos,Rafael Martínez,Eduardo Flores,Miguel Méndez,Concepción Ponderós,Concepción Rayón,Pedro Sánchez-Godoy,Javier Zamora,Miguel A. Piris +19 more
TL;DR: The data from this exploratory study suggest that the accumulation of molecular events seems to influence the outcome of HL, particularly in the low-IPS group.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prognostic value of FLT3 mutations in patients with acute promyelocytic leukemia treated with all-trans retinoic acid and anthracycline monochemotherapy
Eva Barragán,Pau Montesinos,Mireia Camós,Marcos González,María José Calasanz,Jose Roman-Gomez,María Teresa Gómez-Casares,Rosa Ayala,Javier María García López,Oscar Fuster,Dolors Colomer,Carmen Chillón,María José Larrayoz,Pedro Sánchez-Godoy,José González-Campos,Félix Manso,Maria L. Amador,Edo Vellenga,Bob Löwenberg,Miguel A. Sanz +19 more
TL;DR: FLT3-internal tandem duplication mutations are associated with several hematologic features in acute promyelocytic leukemia, in particular with high white blood cell counts, but it was unable to demonstrate an independent prognostic value in patients treated with all-trans retinoic acid and anthracycline-based regimens.
Journal ArticleDOI
A molecular risk score based on 4 functional pathways for advanced classical Hodgkin lymphoma.
Beatriz Sanchez-Espiridion,Carlos Montalbán,Angel F. Lopez,Javier Menárguez,Pilar Sabin,Carmen Ruiz-Marcellan,Andres Lopez,Rafael Ramos,Jose A. Rodriguez,Araceli Cánovas,Carmen Camarero,Miguel Canales,Javier Alves,Reyes Arranz,Agustín Acevedo,Antonio Salar,Sergio Serrano,Águeda Bas,José M. Fresno,José García Laraña,Mónica García-Cosío,Carlos Santonja,José Luis López,Marta Llanos,Manuela Mollejo,Joaquín González-Carrero,A. I. Marín,Jerónimo Forteza,Ramón García-Sanz,Jose Francisco Tomas,Manuel M. Morente,Miguel A. Piris,Juan F. García +36 more
TL;DR: A multistep approach was taken to design a quantitative reverse-transcription polymerase chain reaction assay to be applied to routine formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded samples, integrating genes expressed by the tumor cells and their microenvironment and able to identify a group of patients with very bad outcome.
Journal ArticleDOI
A TaqMan Low-Density Array to Predict Outcome in Advanced Hodgkin's Lymphoma Using Paraffin-Embedded Samples
Beatriz Sanchez-Espiridion,Abel Sánchez-Aguilera,Carlos Montalbán,Carmen Martin,Rafael Martínez,Joaquín González-Carrero,Concepción Poderos,Carmen Bellas,Manuel F. Fresno,Cesar Morante,Maria J Mestre,Miguel Méndez,Francisco Mazorra,Eulogio Conde,Angel Castaño,Pedro Sánchez-Godoy,Jose Francisco Tomas,Manolo M. Morente,Miguel A. Piris,Juan F. García,Juan F. García +20 more
TL;DR: In this article, gene expression data from advanced cHL patients were used to identify transcriptional patterns from the tumoral cells and their non-neoplastic microenvironment, associated with lack of maintained treatment response.
