Journal ArticleDOI

Amino acid sequence of an immunoglobulin-like HLA antigen heavy chain domain.

TL;DR: The sequenced portion of the HLA antigen heavy chain is as homologous to beta 2-microglobulin and immunoglobulin light and heavy chains as are the latter to one another, which strengthens the notion that the transplantation antigens and the immunoglOBulins are evolutionarily related.
Journal ArticleDOI

Subunit structure of HL-A antigens on cell surface.

TL;DR: Work from two laboratories has indicated that HL-A antigens, released from the cell surface by means of papain digestion, are composed of two polypeptide chains2,3.
Journal ArticleDOI

The subunit structure of thymus leukemia antigens.

TL;DR: EDTA-containing buffer solubilizes thymus leukemia antigens (TLa) from crude thymocyte membrane fractions using gel chromatography and ultracentrifugation to suggest an apparent molecular weight for TLa of about 120000.
Journal ArticleDOI

Probing the activation requirements for naive CD8+ T cells with Drosophila cell transfectants as antigen presenting cells.

TL;DR: At least two qualitatively different co‐stimulation signals are required for full activation of CD8 T cells under physiological conditions, and the results suggest that, except under extreme conditions, Signal I alone is unable to activate naive T cells despite the induction of marked TCR downregulation.
