Journal ArticleDOI

A structural feature of human immunoglobulin light chains. Two compact domains connected by a small switch region.

TL;DR: Characterization of the various fragments of the λ chain by amino acid analyses, peptide mapping, NH2-terminal sequence determinations, gel chromatography, and ultracentrifugations suggested that the fragments consist of whole variable or constant halves, and that they extend one to five residues into the adjacent half.
Journal ArticleDOI

Inhibition of MHC class I antigen presentation by viral proteins

TL;DR: Since the understanding of the cell biology of antigen presentation has greatly advanced in recent years, it has now become possible to unravel several of the molecular mechanisms by which viruses interfere with MHC class I antigen presentation.
Journal ArticleDOI

Structure of C-terminal half of two H-2 antigens from cloned mRNA.

TL;DR: The sequencing of plasmids carrying H–2 cDNA is reported as a means of inferring the amino acid sequence of the antigens, and especially of their previously poorly described C-terminal half.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Crystal Structures of Kbm1 and Kbm8 Reveal that Subtle Changes in the Peptide Environment Impact Thermostability and Alloreactivity

TL;DR: These natural K(b) mutations define the minimal perturbations in the peptide environment that alter antigen presentation to T cells and abolish alloreactivity.
Journal ArticleDOI

Distribution of Ia-antigen-like molecules on non-lymphoid tissues.

TL;DR: Ia-antigen-like molecules are expressed on cells within several different non-lymphoid tissues of the guinea-pig as discussed by the authors, and the rabbit antibodies against Ia antigens also stained the cells of the parotid and the submandibular glands.
