Investigation of Freeze Lining in Copper-Containing Slag Systems: Part III. High-Temperature Experimental Investigation of the Effect of Bath Agitation

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of bath agitation on the microstructure, morphologies of the phases, and formation of various layers across the freeze-lining deposit were studied at steady-state conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Basic Nickel Carbonate: Part II. Microstructure Evolution during Industrial Nickel Production from Basic Nickel Carbonate

TL;DR: In this article, a systematic investigation has been carried out to determine the effects of temperature, reduction/oxidation time, and partial pressure of hydrogen on the extent of the oxygen and sulfur removal during basic nickel carbonate (BNC) processing under laboratory conditions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Techniques for the preparation and examination of partially reduced oxides

TL;DR: In this article, a technique has been developed that allows the controlled reduction of small oxide particles in high-velocity gas streams, thus preserving the growth structures present at temperature, and a novel way of preparing delicate samples for examination in the scanning electron microscope and giving examples of the improved quality of metallographic information attainable using these techniques.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of Al2O3 and CaO/SiO2 Ratio on Phase Equilbria in the ZnO-“FeO”-Al2O3-CaO-SiO2 System in Equilibrium with Metallic Iron

TL;DR: In this paper, the phase equilibria and liquidus temperatures in the ZnO-FeO-Al2O3-CaO-SiO2 system in equilibrium with metallic iron have been determined experimentally in the temperature range 1383 −K to 1573 −K (1150 −C to 1300 −C).
Book ChapterDOI

Experimental Study of Liquidus of the “FeO”-SiO2-PbO Slags in Equilibrium with Air and with Metallic Lead

TL;DR: In this article, the liquidus isotherms and invariant lines in the FeO-SiO2-PbO slag system in equilibrium with air and with metallic lead have been constructed.
