The breakdown of dense iron layers on wustite in CO/CO2 and H2/H2O systems

TL;DR: In this article, a qualitative model of the breakdown process involving the nucleation of gas bubbles and the expansion of these bubbles in the iron layer is presented, and possible mechanisms of the initial dense iron layer breakdown are examined and compared with the experimental observations.
Journal ArticleDOI

EXPERIMENTAL STUDY OF PHASE EQUILIBRIA IN THE Fe-Sn-Zn-O SYSTEM IN AIR

TL;DR: The phase diagram of the binary Al2O3-ZnO system and isothermal sections of the Al 2 O3-Fe 2 O 3 -Zn O system at 1250, 1400, and 1550 °C have been constructed and reported for the first time as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

The effect of Al2O3 on liquidus temperatures of fayalite slags

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of alumina on the liquidus temperatures of fayalite slags at iron saturation has been investigated experimentally, and the experimental results show that the alumina addition expands the fay alite primary phase field and decreases the liquid albedo.
Journal ArticleDOI

Experimental Investigation of Gas/Slag/Matte/Tridymite Equilibria in the Cu-Fe-O-S-Si System in Controlled Atmospheres: Development of Technique

TL;DR: In this paper, an improved experimental methodology was developed for accurate characterisation of gas/slag/matte/tridymite equilibria in the Cu-Fe-O-S-Si system under controlled atmospheres.
