Elevated expression of microRNAs 155, 203, 210 and 222 in pancreatic tumors is associated with poorer survival
Thomas Greither,Lukasz F. Grochola,Andrej Udelnow,Christine Lautenschläger,Peter Würl,Helge Taubert +5 more
TL;DR: This study provides the first evidence for an oncogenic activity ofmiR‐155, miR‐203, miM‐210 and miR-222 in the development of pancreatic cancer as has been reported for other tumor types.
Journal ArticleDOI
Omeprazole Inhibits Proliferation and Modulates Autophagy in Pancreatic Cancer Cells
Andrej Udelnow,Andreas Kreyes,Stefan Ellinger,Katharina Landfester,Paul Walther,Thomas Klapperstueck,Johannes Wohlrab,Doris Henne-Bruns,Uwe Knippschild,Peter Würl +9 more
TL;DR: It is hypothesised that omeprazole interacts with the regulatory functions of the vATPase without inhibiting its pump function and a modulation of the lysosomal transport pathway and autophagy is caused in pancreatic cancer cells leading to programmed cell death.
Journal ArticleDOI
Increased survivin transcript levels: an independent negative predictor of survival in soft tissue sarcoma patients.
Matthias Kappler,Thomas Köhler,Christiane Kampf,Petra Diestelkötter,Peter Würl,Marc Schmitz,Frank Bartel,Christine Lautenschläger,Ernst Peter Rieber,Hannelore Schmidt,Matthias Bache,Helge Taubert,Axel Meye,Axel Meye +13 more
TL;DR: This work investigates the quantitative expression of survivin mRNA by a sensitive TaqMan™‐based RT‐PCR assay in tissue samples from 94 patients with soft tissue sarcomas (STS) and finds an inverse correlation between the level of Survivin mRNA and the rate of overall survival.
Journal ArticleDOI
Co-expression of survivin and TERT and risk of tumour-related death in patients with soft-tissue sarcoma
Peter Würl,Matthias Kappler,Axel Meye,Frank Bartel,Thomas Köhler,Christine Lautenschläger,Matthias Bache,Hannelore Schmidt,Helge Taubert +8 more
TL;DR: Co-expression of survivin and TERT transcripts identifies patients at high risk of tumour-related death.
Journal ArticleDOI
Genomic imbalances of 7p and 17q in malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumors are clinically relevant.
Hannelore Schmidt,Peter Würl,Helge Taubert,Axel Meye,Matthias Bache,Hans-Jürgen Holzhausen,Raoul Hinze +6 more
TL;DR: In sporadic MPNSTs from patients with Recklinghausen's disease, the most frequent gains were narrowed down predominantly to 5p, 6, 8q, and 20q, whereas in MPN STs from Patients with Recklingshausen’s disease, there was most often a gain in 7q,8q, 15Q, and 17q.
