Cosmicflows-2: the data

TL;DR: Cosmicflows-2 as mentioned in this paper is a compilation of distances and peculiar velocities for over 8000 galaxies, and the largest contributions come from the luminosity-line width correlation for spirals, the Tully-Fisher relation (TFR), and the related fundamental plane relation for E/S0 systems.
Journal ArticleDOI

The European Large Area ISO Survey - I. Goals, definition and observations

Seb Oliver, +70 more
TL;DR: The European Large Area ISO Survey (ELAIS) as mentioned in this paper was the largest single Open Time project conducted by ISO, mapping an area of 12deg^2 at 15μm and at 90μm with ISOPHOT.
Journal ArticleDOI

Cosmicflows-2: The Data

TL;DR: Cosmicflows-2 as mentioned in this paper is a compilation of distances and peculiar velocities for over 8000 galaxies, with the largest contributions coming from the luminosity-linewidth correlation for spirals, the TFR, and the related Fundamental Plane relation for E/S0 systems.

Cosmic Flows: Univ. Hawaii 2.2m I-band Photometry

TL;DR: Within the "Cosmic Flows" project, I-band photometry of 524 relatively nearby galaxies has been carried out over the course of several years with the University of Hawaii 2.2m telescope and a camera with a 7.5 arcmin field of view as discussed by the authors.
