Journal ArticleDOI
One-year study of polycyclic aromatic compounds at an urban site in Grenoble (France): Seasonal variations, gas/particle partitioning and cancer risk estimation
Sophie Tomaz,Pourya Shahpoury,Jean-Luc Jaffrezo,Gerhard Lammel,Emilie Perraudin,Eric Villenave,Alexandre Albinet +6 more
TL;DR: Polycyclic aromatic compound (PAC) concentrations were 5 to 7 times higher in "cold" period than in "warm" period (April to September) and seasonal variations may be explained by higher primary emissions from residential heating, especially biomass burning in " cold" season.
Journal ArticleDOI
Oxygenated and Nitrated Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons in Ambient Air-Levels, Phase Partitioning, Mass Size Distributions, and Inhalation Bioaccessibility.
Gerhard Lammel,Gerhard Lammel,Zoran Kitanovski,Petr Kukučka,Jiří Novák,Andrea M. Arangio,Garry Codling,Alexander Filippi,Jan Hovorka,Jan Kuta,Cecilia Leoni,Petra Přibylová,Roman Prokeš,Ondřej Sáňka,Pourya Shahpoury,Haijie Tong,Marco Wietzoreck +16 more
TL;DR: The results indicate that water solubility could function as a limiting factor for bioaccessibility of inhaled particulate NPAHs and OPAhs, without considerable effect of surfactant lipids and proteins in the lung lining fluid.
Journal ArticleDOI
Evaluation of a Conceptual Model for Gas-Particle Partitioning of Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons Using Polyparameter Linear Free Energy Relationships
Pourya Shahpoury,Gerhard Lammel,Gerhard Lammel,Alexandre Albinet,Aysun Sofuoǧlu,Yetkin Dumanoglu,Sait C. Sofuoǧlu,Zdeněk Wagner,Vladimir Zdimal +8 more
TL;DR: The ppLFER analysis with the parametrization applied in this study suggests that the absorption into WSOSOM could dominate the overall partitioning process, while adsorption onto salts could be neglected.
Journal ArticleDOI
Composition and mass size distribution of nitrated and oxygenated aromatic compounds in ambient particulate matter from southern and central Europe - implications for the origin
Zoran Kitanovski,Pourya Shahpoury,Constantini Samara,Aristeidis Voliotis,Aristeidis Voliotis,Gerhard Lammel,Gerhard Lammel +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, Nitro-monoaromatic hydrocarbons (NMAHs) such as nitrocatechols, nitrophenols and nitrosalicylic acids, are important constituents of atmospheric particulate matter (PM) water-soluble organic carbon (WSOC) and Humic-like substances (HULIS).
Journal ArticleDOI
Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, polychlorinated biphenyls, and chlorinated pesticides in background air in central Europe – investigating parameters affecting wet scavenging of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons
Pourya Shahpoury,Gerhard Lammel,A. Holubová Šmejkalová,A. Holubová Šmejkalová,Jana Klánová,Petra Přibylová,M. Váňa,M. Váňa +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, concentrations of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs), polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), and chlorinated pesticides (CPs) were measured in air and precipitation at a background site in central Europe.
