TL;DR: In this paper, the authors presented the largest and most homogeneous catalog of H ii regions and associations compiled so far, consisting of more than 7000 ionized regions, extracted from 306 galaxies observed by the CALIFA survey.
Journal ArticleDOI
A comprehensive classification of galaxies in the Sloan Digital Sky Survey: how to tell true from fake AGN?
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used the W Hα versus [NII]/Hα (WHAN) diagram to provide a comprehensive emission-line classification of Sloan Digital Sky Survey galaxies.

Journal ArticleDOI
A comprehensive classification of galaxies in the SDSS: How to tell true from fake AGN?
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used the W_Ha versus [NII]/Ha (WHAN) diagram to provide a comprehensive emission-line classification of SDSS galaxies.
Journal ArticleDOI
Alternative diagnostic diagrams and the 'forgotten' population of weak line galaxies in the SDSS
R. Cid Fernandes,Grazyna Stasinska,M. Schlickmann,Abílio Mateus,N. Vale Asari,N. Vale Asari,William Schoenell,Laerte Sodré +7 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed to use the BPT diagram for galaxy classification and showed that the W Hα versus [N II]/Hα diagram can be applied to the largest sample of galaxies without loss of discriminating power between Seyferts and LINERs.
