Journal ArticleDOI

Clinical correlates of decreased anteroposterior metabolic gradients in positron emission tomography (PET) of schizophrenic patients

TL;DR: Although eight of the 21 patients and only one of the control subjects showed a relatively lower anteroposterior metabolic gradient, no clinical correlates of this finding were noted, and cerebral atrophy, as determined by CAT scan, was not associated with this aberrant metabolic pattern.
Journal ArticleDOI

Down's Syndrome in Adults: Brain Metabolism

TL;DR: Glucose utilization by the brain appears to be excessive in young adults with Down's syndrome but may decline with age in some brain regions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Measurement of blood-brain barrier permeability with positron emission tomography and [68Ga]EDTA.

TL;DR: The results show that PET can be used to measure transient changes in BBB integrity in specific brain regions, under in vivo, noninvasive conditions.
