Psychological and social sequelae of cannabis and other illicit drug use by young people: a systematic review of longitudinal, general population studies
John Macleod,R Oakes,Alex Copello,Ilana Crome,Matthias Egger,Matthias Egger,Mathew Hickman,Thomas Oppenkowski,Helen Stokes-Lampard,George Davey Smith +9 more
TL;DR: Available evidence does not strongly support an important causal relation between cannabis use by young people and psychosocial harm, but cannot exclude the possibility that such a relation exists, and the lack of evidence of robust causal relations prevents the attribution of public health detriments to illicit drug use.
Reference EntryDOI
Eradication of Helicobacter pylori for non‐ulcer dyspepsia
Paul Moayyedi,Shelly Soo,Jonathan J Deeks,Brendan Delaney,Adam Harris,Michael Innes,R Oakes,Sue Wilson,Andrea K Roalfe,Cathy Bennett,David Forman +10 more
TL;DR: H pylori eradication therapy has a small but statistically significant effect in H pyloris positive non-ulcer dyspepsia and an economic model suggests this modest benefit may still be cost-effective but more research is needed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Targets and self monitoring in hypertension: randomised controlled trial and cost effectiveness analysis.
Richard J McManus,Jonathan Mant,Andrea K Roalfe,R Oakes,Stirling Bryan,Helen M Pattison,F D R Hobbs +6 more
TL;DR: Practice based self monitoring resulted in small but significant improvements of blood pressure at six months, which were not sustained after a year, and there was no appreciable additional cost.
Journal ArticleDOI

Initial management strategies for dyspepsia
Brendan Delaney,Michael Innes,Jonathan J Deeks,S Wilson,R Oakes,Paul Moayyedi,Hobbs Fdr.,D. Forman +7 more
TL;DR: PPIs are effective in the treatment of dyspepsia in these trials which may not adequately exclude patients with gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, but the relative efficacy of H2RA and PPI is uncertain.
