Olivier Ilbert,H. J. McCracken,O. Le Fèvre,Peter Capak,James Dunlop,Alexander Karim,M. A. Renzini,Karina Caputi,Samuel Boissier,Stéphane Arnouts,Herve Aussel,Johan Comparat,Qi Guo,P. Hudelot,Jeyhan S. Kartaltepe,Jean-Paul Kneib,J.-K. Krogager,E. Le Floc'h,S. J. Lilly,Yannick Mellier,Bo Milvang-Jensen,Thibaud Moutard,Masato Onodera,Johan Richard,Mara Salvato,David B. Sanders,N. Z. Scoville,John D. Silverman,Yoshiaki Taniguchi,Lidia Tasca,R. Thomas,Sune Toft,Laurence Tresse,Daniela Vergani,M. Wolk,Andrew Zirm +35 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors estimate the galaxy stellar mass function and stellar mass density for star-forming and quiescent galaxies with 0.2 − 1.5 consistent with the expected uncertainties.
Journal ArticleDOI
Analogues of primeval galaxies two billion years after the Big Bang
Ricardo Amorín,Ricardo Amorín,Adriano Fontana,Enrique Pérez-Montero,Marco Castellano,Lucia Guaita,Andrea Grazian,Olivier Le Fèvre,B. Ribeiro,Daniel Schaerer,Daniel Schaerer,Lidia Tasca,R. Thomas,S. TL;DR: In this article, a rare population of ultraviolet-selected, low-luminosity galaxies at redshift 2.4 < z < 3.5 was studied, which exhibit all the rest-frame properties of primeval galaxies.
Journal ArticleDOI
Discovery of a rich proto-cluster at z = 2.9 and associated diffuse cold gas in the VIMOS Ultra-Deep Survey (VUDS)
Olga Cucciati,Olga Cucciati,G. Zamorani,Brian C. Lemaux,S. Bardelli,Alessandro Cimatti,Alessandro Cimatti,O. Le Fèvre,Paolo Cassata,Paolo Cassata,Bianca Garilli,V. Le Brun,D. TL;DR: In this article, the authors characterized a massive proto-cluster at z = 2.895 that they found in the COSMOS field using the spectroscopic sample of the VIMOS Ultra-Deep Survey (VUDS).
Journal ArticleDOI
VIMOS Ultra-Deep Survey (VUDS): Witnessing the assembly of a massive cluster at z ~ 3.3
Brian C. Lemaux,Olga Cucciati,Olga Cucciati,Lidia Tasca,O. Le Fèvre,G. Zamorani,Paolo Cassata,Bianca Garilli,V. Le Brun,D. Maccagni,Laura Pentericci,R. Thomas,Eros Vanzella,E. Zucca,Ricardo Amorín,S. TL;DR: In this article, the authors performed a systematic search for overdense environments in the early universe (z> 2) and reported the discovery of Cl 0227-0421, a massive protocluster at z = 3.29.
Journal ArticleDOI
The VIMOS Ultra-Deep Survey: Emerging from the dark, a massive proto-cluster at z=4.57
Brian C. Lemaux,O. Le Fèvre,Olga Cucciati,B. Ribeiro,Lidia Tasca,G. Zamorani,Olivier Ilbert,R. Thomas,S. Bardelli,Paolo Cassata,Nimish P. Hathi,Janine Pforr,Vernesa Smolčić,Ivan Delvecchio,Mladen Novak,S. Berta,H. J. McCracken,Anton M. Koekemoer,Ricardo Amorín,Bianca Garilli,D. Maccagni,Daniel Schaerer,E. Zucca +22 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the spectral properties of the two samples are compared, with a definite suppression of Ly$\alpha$ seen in the average member galaxy relative to the coeval field, leading to the possible presence of a large, cool diffuse medium within the proto-cluster environment.
