A journey through the lectin pathway of complement—MBL and beyond
Peter Garred,Ninette Genster,Katrine Pilely,Rafael Bayarri-Olmos,Anne Rosbjerg,Ying Jie Ma,Mikkel-Ole Skjoedt +6 more
TL;DR: The severe 3MC (Malpuech, Michels, Mingarelli, and Carnevale) embryonic development syndrome originates from rare mutations affecting either collectin‐11 or MASP‐3, indicating a broader functionality of the complement system than previously anticipated.
Journal ArticleDOI
SARS-CoV-2 Antibody Responses Are Correlated to Disease Severity in COVID-19 Convalescent Individuals.
Cecilie Bo Hansen,Ida Jarlhelt,Laura Pérez-Alós,Lone H. Landsy,Mette Loftager,Anne Rosbjerg,Charlotte Helgstrand,Jais Rose Bjelke,Thomas Egebjerg,Joseph G. Jardine,Charlotte Sværke Jørgensen,Kasper Iversen,Rafael Bayarri-Olmos,Peter Garred,Mikkel-Ole Skjoedt +14 more
TL;DR: It is shown that the IgM, A, and G Ab responses against receptor-binding domain are significantly correlated to the disease severity, and these assays and the data generated from them are highly relevant for diagnostics and prognostics and contribute to the understanding of long-term COVID-19 immunity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Modeling of waning immunity after SARS-CoV-2 vaccination and influencing factors
Laura Pérez-Alós,Jose Juan Almagro Armenteros,Johannes R. Madsen,Cecilie Bo Hansen,Ida Jarlhelt,Sebastian Rask Hamm,Line Dam Heftdal,Mia Pries-Heje,Dina Leth Møller,Kamille Fogh,Rasmus Bo Hasselbalch,Anne Rosbjerg,Søren Brunak,E. Sørensen,Margit Hørup Larsen,Sisse R. Ostrowski,Ruth Frikke-Schmidt,Rafael Bayarri-Olmos,Linda Hilsted,Kasper Iversen,Henning Bundgaard,Susanne Dam Nielsen,Peter Garred +22 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors examined antibody levels and T-cell gamma-interferon release after two doses of BNT162b2 vaccine or a combination of ChAdOx1-nCoV19 and BNT 162b2 vaccines for up to 230 days after the first dose.
Journal ArticleDOI
The SARS-CoV-2 Y453F mink variant displays a pronounced increase in ACE-2 affinity but does not challenge antibody neutralization.
Rafael Bayarri-Olmos,Anne Rosbjerg,Laust Bruun Johnsen,Charlotte Helgstrand,Theresa Bak-Thomsen,Peter Garred,Mikkel-Ole Skjoedt +6 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors present functional data on the cluster-five variant, which contains a mutation resulting in a Y453F residue change in the receptor-binding domain (RBD) of the spike protein.
Journal ArticleDOI
Soluble Collectin-12 (CL-12) Is a Pattern Recognition Molecule Initiating Complement Activation via the Alternative Pathway
Ying Jie Ma,Estrid Hein,Lea Munthe-Fog,Mikkel-Ole Skjoedt,Rafael Bayarri-Olmos,Luigina Romani,Peter Garred +6 more
TL;DR: The existence of CL-12 in a soluble form is demonstrated and a novel mechanism by which the alternative pathway of complement may be triggered directly by a soluble pattern-recognition molecule is indicated.
