Genotyping by Alkaline Dehybridization Using Graphically Encoded Particles

TL;DR: Alkaline dehybridization is demonstrated to correctly discriminate the rank hierarchy of thermodynamic stability among four sets of perfect match and single-base mismatch duplexes and how the sensitivity can be compensated beneficially by the use of an actuating gradient pH field.
Journal ArticleDOI

Region specific enhancement of quantum dot emission using interleaved two-dimensional photonic crystals.

TL;DR: This work demonstrates an approach in which visible-wavelength-emitting quantum dots (QDs) are integrated within a polymer-based photonic crystal (PC) and excited by an ultraviolet-emission LED to efficiently extract photons normal to the PC surface.
Journal ArticleDOI

Collision-induced activation of the β-hydride elimination reaction of isobutyl iodide dissociatively chemisorbed on Al(111)

TL;DR: In this paper, the collision-induced activation of the endothermic surface reaction of isobutyl iodide chemisorbed on an Al(111) surface is demonstrated using inert-gas, hyperthermal atomic beams.
Journal ArticleDOI

Transport Dynamics in Ordered Bilayer Assemblies of the n-Alkanes on Pt(111)

TL;DR: In this article, the energy of self-diffusion within ordered bilayer assemblies of linear hydrocarbons on Pt(111) (layer-to-layer) have been characterized using isothermal molecular beam-surface scattering in conjunction with temperature programmed desorption (TPD) and reflection-absorption infrared (RAIR) spectroscopy.
