Attitudes Towards Dietary Fibre on a Multicultural Basis: A Fibre Study Framework
Raquel Guiné,João Duarte,Manuela Ferreira,Paula Correia,Marcela Leal,Ivana Rumbak,Irena Colić Barić,Draženka Komes,Zvonimir Šatalić,Marijana Matek Sarić,Monica Tarcea,Zita Fazakas,Dijana Jovanoska,Dragoljub Vanevski,Elena Vittadini,Nicoletta Pellegrini,Viktória Szucs,Júlia Harangozó,Ayman Ayman EL-Kenawy,Omnia EL-Shenawy,Erkan Yalçın,Cem Kösemeci,Dace Klava,Evita Straumite +23 more
TL;DR: The results suggested that the ingestion of fibre rich foods like fruit, vegetables and cereals, was low and far from the recommended amounts and the level of knowledge about dietary fibre was generally not satisfactory.
Journal Article
Analysis of the drying kinetics of S. Bartolomeu pears for different drying systems.
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors studied the drying kinetics of pears of the variety S. Bartolomeu (Pyrus communis L.) in three alternative systems, including a solar stove, a solar drier and a drying tunnel.
Journal Article
Contribution for the Physical-Chemical Characterization of Portuguese Crowberry (Corema album).
TL;DR: In this article, the physic-chemical characteristics of Portuguese crowberries were investigated, namely, sizeable properties (dimension and weigh), chemical components (water, crude fiber, total and reducing sugars, total soluble solids and acidity), and finally physical characteristics (color and texture).
Journal ArticleDOI
Drying kinetics of some varieties of pears produced in Portugal.
TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated the drying behavior of two varieties of pears produced in Portugal and concluded that the drying curves are better described by the exponential rather than the cubic function.
Journal ArticleDOI
The drying process of Sarcocornia perennis: impact on nutritional and physico-chemical properties
Maria João Barroca,Maria João Barroca,Raquel Guiné,Ana M. Amado,Sandrine Ressurreição,A. Moreira da Silva,A. Moreira da Silva,Maria Paula M. Marques,L. A. E. Batista de Carvalho +8 more
TL;DR: The convective drying, in the temperature range currently used, was found to preserve the colour, nutritional characteristics and phytochemical value of Sarcocornia perennis.
