A novel free-mounting system for protein crystals: transformation and improvement of diffraction power by accurately controlled humidity changes

TL;DR: Vagin et al. as discussed by the authors used a micropipette to mount a protein crystal on the tip of a CCD-camera for optical analysis, and demonstrated the application of this method in combination with shock-freezing to improve crystal order.

Cyclotron and magnetoplasmon resonances in bilayer graphene ratchets

TL;DR: In this article , a tunable conversion of terahertz radiation into a dc current in spatially modulated bilayer graphene was shown to be related to the so-called ratchet effect.
Journal ArticleDOI

Spectroscopic thermo-elastic optical coherence tomography for tissue characterization.

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors demonstrate spectroscopic Thermo-elastic Optical Coherence Tomography (TE-OCT) as a potential tool in tissue identification, which uses short laser pulses to induce tissue deformation and measures the resulting surface displacement using phase-sensitive OCT.
