Islam Rady,Melissa B. Bloch,Roxane Cherille N. Chamcheu,Sergette Banang Mbeumi,Rafi Anwar,Hadir Mohamed,AS Babatunde,Jules-Roger Kuiate,Felicite K. Noubissi,Khalid A. El Sayed,G. Kerr Whitfield,Jean Christopher Chamcheu,Jean Christopher Chamcheu +12 more
TL;DR: This review summarizes the current understanding of the anticancer effects of A. muricata and its constituents on diverse cancer types and disease states, as well as efficacy and safety concerns.
Journal ArticleDOI
Graviola (Annona muricata) Exerts Anti-Proliferative, Anti-Clonogenic and Pro-Apoptotic Effects in Human Non-Melanoma Skin Cancer UW-BCC1 and A431 Cells In Vitro: Involvement of Hedgehog Signaling.
Jean Christopher Chamcheu,Jean Christopher Chamcheu,Islam Rady,Roxane Cherille N. Chamcheu,Abu Bakar Siddique,Melissa B. Bloch,Sergette Banang Mbeumi,AS Babatunde,AS Babatunde,Mohammad Burhan Uddin,Felicite K. Noubissi,Peter W. Jurutka,Yong-Yu Liu,Vladimir S. Spiegelman,G. Kerr Whitfield,Khalid A. El Sayed +15 more
TL;DR: The data identify graviola extracts and their constituents as promising sources for new chemopreventive and therapeutic agent(s) to be further developed for the control of NMSCs.
Journal ArticleDOI
Synthesis, inverse docking-assisted identification and in vitro biological characterization of Flavonol-based analogs of fisetin as c-Kit, CDK2 and mTOR inhibitors against melanoma and non-melanoma skin cancers
Tithi Roy,Samuel T. Boateng,Sergette Banang-Mbeumi,Pankaj Kumar Singh,Pratik Basnet,Roxane Cherille N. Chamcheu,Federico Ladu,Isabel Chauvin,Vladimir S. Spiegelman,Ronald A. Hill,Konstantin G. Kousoulas,Bolni Marius Nagalo,Anthony L. Walker,Jean Fotie,Siva Murru,Mario Sechi,Jean Christopher Chamcheu +16 more
TL;DR: In this article, a series of flavonol-based derivatives of fisetin, a plant-based flavonoid identified as an anti-tumorigenic agent targeting the mammalian targets of rapamycin (mTOR)-regulated pathways, were synthesized and fully characterized.
Journal ArticleDOI
Bioactive dietary VDR ligands regulate genes encoding biomarkers of skin repair that are associated with risk for psoriasis
Amitis Karrys,Amitis Karrys,Islam Rady,Islam Rady,Roxane Cherille N. Chamcheu,Marya S. Sabir,Sanchita Mallick,Jean Christopher Chamcheu,Jean Christopher Chamcheu,Peter W. Jurutka,Peter W. Jurutka,Mark R. Haussler,G. Kerr Whitfield +12 more
TL;DR: In psoriasis patients, it is proposed that certain dietary analogues of 1,25D activate the expression of residual LCE3A/LCE3D/Lce3E genes to compensate for the loss of L CE3B/L CE3C in the deletant genotype, and this finding may provide a molecular basis for improved treatments for mild/moderate Psoriasis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Identification of new fisetin analogs as kinase inhibitors: Data on synthesis and anti-skin cancer activities evaluation.
Tithi Roy,Samuel T. Boateng,Sergette Banang-Mbeumi,Pankaj Singh,Pratik Basnet,Roxane Cherille N. Chamcheu,Federico Ladu,Isabel Chauvin,Vladimir S. Spiegelman,Ronald A. Hill,Konstantin G. Kousoulas,Bolni Marius Nagalo,Anthony L. Walker,Jean Fotie,Siva Murru,Mario Sechi,Jean Christopher Chamcheu +16 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a panel of novel fisetin analogs that are either single or multi-kinase inhibitors of the cyclin-dependent kinase-2 (CDK2), receptor tyrosine kinases (c-KITs), and mammalian targets of rapamycin (mTOR) targets were identified.
