Journal ArticleDOI
Novel taxa of Diatrypaceae from Para rubber (Hevea brasiliensis) in northern Thailand; introducing a novel genus Allocryptovalsa
Chanokned Senwanna,Rungtiwa Phookamsak,Mingkwan Doilom,Kevin D. Hyde,Ratchadawan Cheewangkoon +4 more
TL;DR: A new genus, Allocryptovalsa, is introduced to accommodate a new species A. polyspora and two species, A. cryptovalsoidea and A. rabenhorstii are transferred to the new genus.
Journal ArticleDOI
Towards a natural classification of Ophiobolus and ophiobolus-like taxa; introducing three novel genera Ophiobolopsis, Paraophiobolus and Pseudoophiobolus in Phaeosphaeriaceae (Pleosporales)
Rungtiwa Phookamsak,Dhanushka N. Wanasinghe,Dhanushka N. Wanasinghe,Sinang Hongsanan,Chayanard Phukhamsakda,Shi-Ke Huang,Shi-Ke Huang,Danushka S. Tennakoon,Danushka S. Tennakoon,Chada Norphanphoun,Erio Camporesi,Timur S. Bulgakov,Itthayakorn Promputtha,Peter E. Mortimer,Jianchu Xu,Kevin D. Hyde,Kevin D. Hyde +16 more
TL;DR: Multigene phylogenetic analyses of combined LSU, SSU, TEF1-α and ITS sequence data position O. disseminans in a sister clade with O. ponticus and several Entodesmium species in Phaeosphaeriaceae with high support indicate that Entodemium is synonymized under Ophiobolus.
Journal ArticleDOI
Diatrypella tectonae and Peroneutypa mackenziei spp. nov. (Diatrypaceae) from northern Thailand
Qiu-Ju Shang,Kevin D. Hyde,Kevin D. Hyde,Kevin D. Hyde,Rungtiwa Phookamsak,Rungtiwa Phookamsak,Mingkwan Doilom,Mingkwan Doilom,Mingkwan Doilom,Darbhe J. Bhat,Sajeewa S. N. Maharachchikumbura,Itthayakorn Promputtha +11 more
TL;DR: Phylogenetic analyses of combined ITS and partial β-tubulin (β-tub) sequence data support their natural placements in the genera Diatrypella and Peroneutypa as new species.
Journal ArticleDOI
Muriphaeosphaeria galatellae gen. et sp. nov. in Phaeosphaeriaceae ( Pleosporales )
Chayanard Phukhamsakda,Hiran A. Ariyawansa,Rungtiwa Phookamsak,Putarak Chomnunti,Timur S. Bulgakov,Jun-Bo Yang,Darbhe J. Bhat,Ali H. Bahkali,Kevin D. Hyde +8 more
TL;DR: A phylogenetic analysis based on combined LSU, SSU and ITS sequence data showed that M. galatellae forms a distinct lineage in Phaeosphaeriaceae.
Journal ArticleDOI
Halodiatrype, a novel diatrypaceous genus from mangroves with H. salinicola and H. avicenniae spp. nov.
Monika C. Dayarathne,Rungtiwa Phookamsak,Kevin D. Hyde,Ishara S. Manawasinghe,Chaiwat To-anun,Gareth E.B. Jones +5 more
TL;DR: A novel genus, Halodiatrype is introduced to accommodate the new species of diatrypaceous taxa from mangroves in southern Thailand, and it is shown that the molecular data for Diatrypaceae is highly confused with species of the same genera scattered across the tree.
