Large Tunable Rashba Spin Splitting of a Two-Dimensional Electron Gas in Bi 2 Se 3
Phil D. C. King,Richard C. Hatch,Marco Bianchi,Ruslan Ovsyannikov,C. Lupulescu,C. Lupulescu,Gabriel Landolt,Gabriel Landolt,Bartosz Slomski,Bartosz Slomski,Jan Hugo Dil,Jan Hugo Dil,Dandan Guan,Dandan Guan,Jianli Mi,E. D. L. Rienks,Jörg Fink,Jörg Fink,Andreas Lindblad,Svante Svensson,Svante Svensson,Shining Bao,Geetha Balakrishnan,Bo B. Iversen,Jürg Osterwalder,Wolfgang Eberhardt,Wolfgang Eberhardt,Felix Baumberger,Philip Hofmann +28 more
TL;DR: Results of a Rashba spin splitting of a two-dimensional electron gas in the topological insulator Bi(2)Se(3) from angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy show promise for the miniaturization of spintronic devices to the nanoscale and their operation at room temperature.
Journal ArticleDOI
Electronic structure studies of BaFe2As2 by angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy
Jörg Fink,Jörg Fink,Setti Thirupathaiah,Ruslan Ovsyannikov,Hermann A. Dürr,Rolf Follath,Yingkai Huang,S. de Jong,Mark S. Golden,Yu Zhong Zhang,Harald Olaf Jeschke,Roser Valentí,Claudia Felser,S. Dastjani Farahani,M. Rotter,Dirk Johrendt +15 more
TL;DR: In this article, high resolution angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy (ARPES) studies of the electronic structure of BaFe 2, which is one of the parent compounds of the Fe-pnictide superconductors, were performed at 20 and 300 K.
Journal ArticleDOI
Efficient light emission from inorganic and organic semiconductor hybrid structures by energy-level tuning
Raphael Schlesinger,Francesco Bianchi,S. Blumstengel,Christos Christodoulou,Ruslan Ovsyannikov,Björn Kobin,Karttikay Moudgil,Stephen Barlow,Stefan Hecht,Seth R. Marder,Fritz Henneberger,Norbert Koch,Norbert Koch +12 more
TL;DR: The ZnO work function is substantially lowered with an organometallic donor monolayer, aligning the frontier levels of the inorganic and organic semiconductors, and this increases the hybrid structure's radiative emission yield sevenfold, validating the relevance of the approach.
Journal ArticleDOI
Detailed characterization of electron sources yielding first demonstration of European X-ray Free-Electron Laser beam quality
Frank Stephan,C. H. Boulware,Mikhail Krasilnikov,J. Bähr,G. Asova,A. Donat,U. Gensch,H.-J. Grabosch,M. Hänel,L. Hakobyan,H. Henschel,Y. Ivanisenko,L. Jachmann,S. Khodyachykh,Martin Khojoyan,W. Templin,Wolfgang Sandner,Wolfgang Ackermann,E. Arevalo,Erion Gjonaj,Wolfgang Franz Otto Müller,Sascha Schnepp,Thomas Weiland,Felix Wolfheimer,J. Rönsch,Jörg Rossbach +84 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the beam parameters of a laser-driven x-ray free-electron laser (XFEL) were analyzed at an accelerating gradient of about 43 MV=m at the photocathode and at about 60 MV = m at the cathode.
Journal ArticleDOI
Thermally and Magnetically Robust Triplet Ground State Diradical.
Nolan M. Gallagher,Hui Zhang,Tobias Junghoefer,Erika Giangrisostomi,Ruslan Ovsyannikov,Maren Pink,Suchada Rajca,Maria Benedetta Casu,Andrzej Rajca +8 more
TL;DR: Triplet ground state diradical 2 with a large singlet-triplet energy gap is reported, leading to nearly exclusive population of triplet ground state at room temperature, and good thermal stability with onset of decomposition at ∼160 °C under inert atmosphere.
