The ASTRODEEP Frontier Fields catalogues - II. Photometric redshifts and rest frame properties in Abell-2744 and MACS-J0416
Marco Castellano,Ricardo Amorín,E. Merlin,Adriano Fontana,Ross J. McLure,E. Mármol-Queraltó,Alice Mortlock,S. Parsa,James Dunlop,David Elbaz,Italo Balestra,Alexandre Boucaud,Alexandre Boucaud,Nathan Bourne,K. Boutsia,Gabriel B. Brammer,Vicki Bruce,Fernando Buitrago,Fernando Buitrago,Peter Capak,Nico Cappelluti,Laure Ciesla,Andrea Comastri,Fergus Cullen,S. Derriere,S. M. Faber,Emanuele Giallongo,Andrea Grazian,Claudio Grillo,Amata Mercurio,Michał J. Michałowski,Mario Nonino,D. Paris,L. Pentericci,S. Pilo,Piero Rosati,Paola Santini,Corentin Schreiber,X. Shu,X. Shu,Tao Wang,Tao Wang +41 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the first public release of photometric redshifts, galaxy rest frame properties and associated magnification values in the cluster and parallel pointings of the first two Frontier Fields, Abell-2744 and MACS-J0416, is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
No evidence for a significant AGN contribution to cosmic hydrogen reionization
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors investigated a claimed sample of 22 X-ray detected active galactic nuclei (AGN) at redshifts z > 4, which has reignited the debate as to whether young galaxies or AGN reionized the Universe.
Journal ArticleDOI
The galaxy UV luminosity function at z≃ 2–4; new results on faint-end slope and the evolution of luminosity density
TL;DR: In this paper, the evolving rest-frame ultraviolet (UV) galaxy luminosity function (LF) was measured over the key redshift range from z ≃ 2 to Z ≃ 4 using the high dynamic range provided by combining the Hubble Ultra Deep Field (HUDF), CANDELS/GOODS-South and UltraVISTA/COSMOS surveys.
Journal ArticleDOI
Evolution of cosmic star formation in the SCUBA-2 Cosmology Legacy Survey
Nathan Bourne,James Dunlop,Emiliano Merlin,S. Parsa,Corentin Schreiber,Marco Castellano,C. J. Conselice,Kristen Coppin,Duncan Farrah,Adriano Fontana,James E. Geach,Mark Halpern,Kirsten Kraiberg Knudsen,Michał J. Michałowski,Alice Mortlock,P. Santini,Douglas Scott,X. W. Shu,Chris Simpson,Julian M Simpson,Daniel J. Smith,P. van der Werf +21 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the cosmic star formation history undergoes a transition at z similar to 3-4, as predominantly unobscured growth in the early Universe is overtaken by obscured star formation, driven by the build-up of the most massive galaxies during the peak of cosmic assembly.
