Density of states and tunneling spectroscopy on molecular nanostructures

TL;DR: In this article, the density of states of pure carbon nanotubes and of boron doped nano-graphs has been determined from scanning tunneling spectroscopy.
Journal ArticleDOI

Single-walled carbon nanotubes synthesized by the pyrolysis of pyridine over catalysts

TL;DR: In this paper, single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) were successfully synthesized by pyrolysis of pyridine over MgO supported Fe-Mo or Co-Mo catalysts in the presence of pure H2 or a mixture of H2 and NH3 atmospheres.
Journal ArticleDOI

Electronic structure of conjugated oligomers

TL;DR: In this article, the excited states of single-crystalline all-trans β-carotene were investigated by electron energy-loss spectroscopy (EELS), and the momentum-dependent dielectric function was derived by a Kramers-Kronig analysis.
Journal ArticleDOI

IR reflection spectra of polyacetylene: Influence of sample compaction

TL;DR: In this paper, the optical reflection spectra of iodine doped polyacetylene are compared with those from pressure compacted samples and it is concluded that the midgap absorption is (at least in part) due to dielectric function mixing in a compound medium and is not an unambiguous evidence for the existence of solitons.
Journal ArticleDOI

Electronic transport properties stretch oriented new polyacetylene

TL;DR: In this paper, the conductivity and thermopower of highly conductive oriented polyacetylene samples doped with iodine were investigated. And the influence of these defects on the electronic properties was investigated.
