Journal ArticleDOI

High-resolution serum proteomic features for ovarian cancer detection.

TL;DR: It is concluded that the use of high-resolution MS yields superior classification patterns as compared with those obtained with lower resolution instrumentation, and multiple and distinct proteomic patterns, comprising low molecular weight biomarkers, detected by high- resolution MS achieve accuracies surpassing individual biomarker classifiers, warranting validation in a large clinical study.
Journal ArticleDOI

Biomarker amplification by serum carrier protein binding

TL;DR: The majority of low molecular mass biomarkers exist bound to carrier proteins, and the pattern of LMM biomarkers bound specifically to albumin is distinct from those bound to non-albumin carriers.
Journal ArticleDOI

Serum proteomic profiling can discriminate prostate cancer from benign prostates in men with total prostate specific antigen levels between 2.5 and 15.0 ng/ml

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that high resolution mass spectroscopy can generate serum proteomic patterns that discriminate men with elevated PSA due to benign processes from men with CaP even when PSA is within the diagnostic gray zone.
