Effect of the curvature and the {\beta} parameter on the nonlinear dynamics of a drift tearing magnetic island
M. Muraglia,Olivier Agullo,Masatoshi Yagi,Sadruddin Benkadda,Beyer Peter,Xavier Garbet,Sanae I. Itoh,Kimitaka Itoh,Abhijit Sen +8 more
TL;DR: In this paper, numerical simulation studies of 2D reduced MHD equations investigating the impact of the electronic β parameter and of curvature effects on the nonlinear evolution of drift tearing islands are presented.
Dynamos and MHD Theory of Turbulence Suppression
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors reviewed the properties of electrically conducting media from a macroscopic viewpoint based on mean-field magnetohydrodynamics, while being compared using the methodology and knowledge in fluid mechanics.
Journal ArticleDOI
Topology bifurcation of a magnetic flux surface in magnetized plasmas
Katsumi Ida,Shigeru Inagaki,Yasuhiro Suzuki,Satoru Sakakibara,T. Kobayashi,Kimitaka Itoh,Hayato Tsuchiya,Chihiro Suzuki,Mikirou Yoshinuma,Yoshiro Narushima,Masayuki Yokoyama,Akihiro Shimizu,Sanae I. Itoh +12 more
TL;DR: In this article, the radial propagation of a heat pulse driven by modulated electron cyclotron heating is observed in the Large Helical Device and the bifurcation in the heat pulse propagation suggests that the topology of a magnetic flux surface in the plasma is bifurbated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Statistical Theory of Subcritically-Excited Strong Turbulence in Inhomogeneous Plasmas. V
Sanae I. Itoh,Kimitaka Itoh +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, a statistical theory of strong plasma turbulence in nonlinear-nonequilibrium state is extended by use of the spectral decomposition method, the renormalized propagator is decomposed into the proje
