District heating in cities as a part of low-carbon energy system

TL;DR: In this paper, district heating scenarios towards carbon neutral district heat production in 2050 were formed for Helsinki region, Warsaw and Kaunas based on the plans and goals of the studied cities and the companies supplying district heat in these regions.
Journal ArticleDOI

Heat pumps versus combined heat and power production as CO2 reduction measures in Finland

Samuli Rinne, +1 more
- 01 Aug 2013 -
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors calculate CO 2 emission factors of DH (district heating) from CHP and GSHP (ground source heat pumps) in Finland, based on hourly data at present and in various future scenarios.
Journal ArticleDOI

Consumer attitudes towards renewable energy in China - The case of Shanghai

TL;DR: Wang et al. as mentioned in this paper studied the consumers' attitudes towards green energy in China and their willingness to buy green electricity or renewable energy systems, and found that the willingness to pay for a specific green electricity product is influenced by income, building type, how promising the renewable energy potential is seen, and whether the person can choose the water heating and cooling system.
Journal ArticleDOI

Thermodynamic and Economic Analysis of a Hybrid Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion/Photovoltaic System with Hydrogen-Based Energy Storage System

TL;DR: In this article, a new, renewable and sustainable energy supply system for islands and remote area where ocean thermal energy conversion (OTEC)/photovoltaic with hydrogen storage system is proposed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Heat Transfer Modeling of a Parabolic Trough Solar Collector with Working Fluid of Fe3O4 and CuO/Therminol 66 Nanofluids under Magnetic Field

TL;DR: In this paper, a parabolic trough solar collector (PTSC) was designed with internal fins to improve the heat transfer characteristics of the collector, and a different geometry for the receiver was proposed.
