Journal ArticleDOI
Interaction of tetraspan(in) TM4SF5 with CD44 promotes self‐renewal and circulating capacities of hepatocarcinoma cells
Doohyung Lee,Juri Na,Jihye Ryu,Hye Jin Kim,Seo Hee Nam,Minkyung Kang,Jae Woo Jung,Mi-Sook Lee,Haeng Eun Song,Jungeun Choi,Gyu Ho Lee,Tai Young Kim,June-Key Chung,Ki Hun Park,Sung Hak Kim,Hyunggee Kim,Howon Seo,Pilhan Kim,Hyewon Youn,Jung Weon Lee +19 more
TL;DR: It is found that TM4 SF5‐dependent sphere growth correlated with CD24−, aldehyde dehydrogenase (ALDH) activity, as well as a physical association between CD44 and TM4SF5, which promotes self‐renewal and CTC properties supported by TM 4SF5+/CD44+(TM4SF 5‐bound)/ALDH+/ CD24–/CD24− markers during HCC metastasis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Transmembrane 4 L Six Family Member 5 Senses Arginine for mTORC1 Signaling
Jae Woo Jung,Stephani Joy Y. Macalino,Minghua Cui,Ji Eon Kim,Hye-Jin Kim,Dae-Geun Song,Dae-Geun Song,Seo Hee Nam,Semi Kim,Sun Choi,Jung Weon Lee +10 more
TL;DR: It is proposed that lysosomal TM4SF5 senses and enables arginine efflux for mTORC1/S6K1 activation, and arginin-auxotroph in hepatocellular carcinoma may be targeted by blocking theArginine sensing using anti-TM4 SF5 reagents.
Journal ArticleDOI
Lysyl-tRNA synthetase-expressing colon spheroids induce M2 macrophage polarization to promote metastasis
Seo Hee Nam,Doyeun Kim,Doohyung Lee,Hye-Mi Lee,Dae-Geun Song,Jae Woo Jung,Ji Eon Kim,Hyejin Kim,Nam Hoon Kwon,Eun-Kyeong Jo,Sunghoon Kim,Jung Weon Lee +11 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that the KRS-dependent metastatic behavior of colon cancer spheroids within 3D gels requires communication between cellular molecules and extracellular soluble factors and neighboring cells, and KRS in colon cancer cells remodels the microenvironment to promote metastasis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Correlations between transmembrane 4 L6 family member 5 (TM4SF5), CD151, and CD63 in liver fibrotic phenotypes and hepatic migration and invasive capacities.
Minkyung Kang,Jihye Ryu,Doohyung Lee,Mi-Sook Lee,Hye-Jin Kim,Seo Hee Nam,Haeng Eun Song,Jungeun Choi,Gyu Ho Lee,Tai Young Kim,Hansoo Lee,Sang Jick Kim,Sang Kyu Ye,Semi Kim,Jung Weon Lee +14 more
TL;DR: Taken together, TM4SF5 appears to play a role in liver malignancy by controlling the levels of tetraspanins on the cell surface, and could provide a promising therapeutic target for the treatment of livermalignancies.
Journal ArticleDOI
Glutamyl-prolyl-tRNA synthetase induces fibrotic extracellular matrix via both transcriptional and translational mechanisms.
Dae-Geun Song,Dae-Geun Song,Doyeun Kim,Jae Woo Jung,Seo Hee Nam,Ji Eon Kim,Hyejin Kim,Jong H. Kim,Seo-Jin Lee,Cheol-Ho Pan,Sunghoon Kim,Jung Weon Lee +11 more
TL;DR: Findings suggest that, during fibrosis development, EPRS plays roles in nontranslational processes of ECM expression via intracellular signaling regulation upon TGF‐β1 stimulation.
