Distinct gene expression patterns in vector-residing Leishmania infantum identify parasite stage-enriched markers

TL;DR: Using the transcriptional signatures exhibited by distinct Leishmania stages during their development in the sand fly midgut, genes predominantly enriched in each stage are determined and a repertoire of stage-specific markers for further development are provided as molecular tools for epidemiological studies.
Journal ArticleDOI

Antibody Responses to Phlebotomus papatasi Saliva in American Soldiers With Cutaneous Leishmaniasis Versus Controls

TL;DR: Compared sand fly saliva-specific human IgG levels and recognized antigens between the two groups, MW30 was the most frequently recognized antigen suggesting a role as biomarker for sand fly exposure and CL risk and anti-Ph.
