Novel magnetic biochar as an activator for peroxymonosulfate to degrade bisphenol A: Emphasizing the synergistic effect between graphitized structure and CoFe2O4

TL;DR: In this paper, the performance of CoFe2O4/HPC nanoparticles was investigated in the presence of peroxymonosulfate and showed that the graphitized structure and the synergistic effect between graphitized structures and CoFe 2O4 nanoparticles were the main factors responsible for the superior performance of the nanoparticles compared to other catalysts.
Journal ArticleDOI

The mechanism changes during bisphenol A degradation in three iron functionalized biochar/peroxymonosulfate systems: The crucial roles of iron contents and graphitized carbon layers.

TL;DR: This work would provide a simple and feasible method, namely changing the ratio of potassium ferrate and biochar, to manipulate the radical and nonradical degradation pathway in PMS-based organic wastewater purification.
Journal ArticleDOI

Sulfur enhances cadmium bioaccumulation in Cichorium intybus by altering soil properties, heavy metal availability and microbial community in contaminated alkaline soil.

TL;DR: Wang et al. as mentioned in this paper investigated the effect of sulfur on Cd phytoextraction by Cichorium intybus (chicory), which revealed the mechanism of sulfur-assisting Cd-phytoremediation by chicory.
Journal ArticleDOI

Integrated physio-biochemical and transcriptomic analysis revealed mechanism underlying of Si-mediated alleviation to cadmium toxicity in wheat.

TL;DR: In this article , the beneficial role of Si (1 mM) in alleviating Cadmium (Cd)induced toxicity in wheat (Triticum aestivum) seedlings was revealed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Differentiation in Nitrogen Transformations and Crop Yield as Affected by Tillage Modes in a Fluvo-Aquic Soil

TL;DR: In this paper , a 3-year cycle tillage experiment was carried out to assess the combination of rotary tillage (RT), deep-tillage (DT), and shallow-rotary-tilage (SRT) on nitrogen transformation and distribution, wheat yield and nitrogen balance.
