Overexpression of Cytochrome P450 CYP6D1 Is Associated with Monooxygenase-Mediated Pyrethroid Resistance in House Flies from Georgia☆

TL;DR: It is suggested that increased expression of CYP6D1 in the resistant flies collected from Georgia in 1998 is due to increased transcription of the gene (as has been identified in LPR) and that CYP 6D1-mediated pyrethroid resistance is found in house flies from both New York and Georgia.
Journal ArticleDOI

Molecular cloning, nucleotide sequence and gene expression of a cytochrome P450 (CYP6F1) from the pyrethroid-resistant mosquito, Culex quinquefasciatus Say.

TL;DR: The deduced amino acid of CYP6F1 showed that it has conserved domains of a membrane-anchoring signal, reductase binding sites, a heme-binding site, ETLR motif and substrate recognition sites in P450s, which is strongly related to CyP6D1 involved in pyrethroid detoxification.
Journal ArticleDOI

P450 monooxygenases are an important mechanism of permethrin resistance in Culex quinquefasciatus Say larvae

TL;DR: Cytochrome P450 monooxygenase is clearly shown to play an important role as a mechanism of permethrin resistance in Jpal-per strain larvae.
Journal ArticleDOI

Symbiotic bacteria associated with stomach discs of human lice

TL;DR: Molecular phylogenetic analysis of 16S rRNA gene sequences showed that the louse symbionts formed a distinct and well-defined clade in the Gammaproteobacteria, exhibiting AT-biased nucleotide composition and accelerated molecular evolution.
