Analysis of coupling from core mode to counter-propagating radiation modes in tilted fiber Bragg gratings
TL;DR: A simplified coupled-mode theory approach is proposed for the first time, whose validity is demonstrated by comparing its simulation results with that of the complete CMT equations, and a theoretical spectral analysis of coupling from core mode to counter-propagating radiation modes in reflective tilted fiber Bragg gratings is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI
Switchable dual-wavelength erbium-doped fiber laser based on the photonic crystal fiber loop mirror and chirped fiber Bragg grating
TL;DR: In this paper, a two-mode photonic crystal fiber (PCF) loop mirror and a chirped fiber Bragg grating at room temperature is proposed and experimentally demonstrated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Spectral Properties of Fabry-Pérot Laser Diodes and Conventional Semiconductor Optical Amplifiers
TL;DR: In this paper, a unified comprehensive model for the analysis of the spectral properties of Fabry-Perot laser diodes and conventional semiconductor optical amplifiers is presented, which is based upon the spectra of material gain and spontaneous emission power, nonlinear gain suppression, and longitudinal spatial hole burning.

Understanding of timing jitter induced by IXPM in CFG compensating optical fiber transmission systems
Abstract: A simple theoretical model is proposed for the study of timing jitter induced by intrachannel corss-phase modulation
(IXPM) in chirped fiber grating (CFG) compensating systems. The mechanism how CFG reduces the timing jitter is
studied in detail, theoretically and numerically. The reason why symmetrical power and dispersion scheme could
guarantee zero timing jitter is analyzed.

All-Optical Analog-to-Digital Conversion Based on Polarization Modulation and Wavelength-Dependent Birefringence
TL;DR: In this paper, a novel scheme of all-optical analog-to-digital conversion (ADC) based on polarization modulation and wavelength-dependent birefringence is proposed and experimentally demonstrated.
