Probing the Active Surface Sites for CO Reduction on Oxide-Derived Copper Electrocatalysts

TL;DR: It is proposed that the active sites for CO reduction on OD-Cu surfaces are strong CO binding sites that are supported by grain boundaries that are distinct from the terraces and stepped sites found on polycrystalline Cu foil.
Journal ArticleDOI

Absence of Oxidized Phases in Cu under CO Reduction Conditions

TL;DR: In this article, live monitoring of Cu and Cu2O Bragg peaks from the surface of a polycrystalline Cu electrode while scanning from open-circuit potential to CO reduction potentials is shown that the near-surface region is fully converted to the metallic phase at approximately +0.3 V vs RHE.
Journal ArticleDOI

Enabling real-time detection of electrochemical desorption phenomena with sub-monolayer sensitivity

TL;DR: In this paper, a gas inlet-based mass spectrometer (EC-MS) was proposed for real-time detection of reaction products and intermediates during electrochemistry experiments.
