Photoanodes based on TiO2 and α-Fe2O3 for solar water splitting – superior role of 1D nanoarchitectures and of combined heterostructures
Stepan Kment,Francesca Riboni,Francesca Riboni,Šárka Paušová,Lei Wang,Lingyun Wang,Hyungkyu Han,Zdenek Hubicka,Josef Krysa,Patrik Schmuki,Patrik Schmuki,Patrik Schmuki,Radek Zboril +12 more
TL;DR: Various synthetic methods and modifying concepts of 1D-photoanodes (nanotubes, nanorods, nanofibers, nanowires) based on titania, hematite, and on α-Fe2O3/TiO2 heterostructures, for PEC applications are described.
Journal ArticleDOI
Photoanodes Based on TiO$_2$ and $\alpha$-Fe$_2$O$_3$ for Solar Water Splitting Superior Role of 1D Nanoarchitectures and of Combined Heterostructures
Stepan Kment,Francesca Riboni,Šárka Paušová,Lei Wang,Lingyun Wang,Hyungkyu Han,Zdenek Hubicka,Josef Krysa,Patrik Schmuki,Radek Zboril +9 more
TL;DR: In this paper, a review describes various synthetic methods, properties and PEC applications of 1D-photoanodes (nanotubes, nanorods, nanofibers, nanowires) based on titania, hematite, and on $\alpha$-Fe$_2$O$_3$/TiO$-2$ heterostructures.
Journal ArticleDOI
On the Controlled Loading of Single Platinum Atoms as a Co-Catalyst on TiO2 Anatase for Optimized Photocatalytic H2 Generation
Seyedsina Hejazi,Shiva Mohajernia,Benedict Osuagwu,Giorgio Zoppellaro,Pavlina Andryskova,Ondrej Tomanec,Stepan Kment,Radek Zbořil,Patrik Schmuki,Patrik Schmuki +9 more
TL;DR: An atomic-scale defect engineering approach to form and control traps for platinum SA sites as co-catalyst for photocatalytic H2 generation is described, finding that only on the thin-film substrate can the density of SA sites be successfully controlled by the degree of reduction by annealing.
Journal ArticleDOI
Metal–Organic Framework (MOF) Derived Electrodes with Robust and Fast Lithium Storage for Li‐Ion Hybrid Capacitors
Deepak P. Dubal,Deepak P. Dubal,Kolleboyina Jayaramulu,Kolleboyina Jayaramulu,Janaky Sunil,Stepan Kment,Pedro Gómez-Romero,Chandrabhas Narayana,Radek Zboril,Roland A. Fischer +9 more
TL;DR: In this article, a well-organized interleaved composite of graphene-like nanosheets embedded with MnO2 nanoparticles (MnO2@C−NS) using a manganese-based MOF and employed as a promising anode material for Li-ion hybrid capacitor (LIHC) is engineered.
Journal ArticleDOI
Photoanodes with Fully Controllable Texture: The Enhanced Water Splitting Efficiency of Thin Hematite Films Exhibiting Solely (110) Crystal Orientation.
Stepan Kment,Patrik Schmuki,Zdenek Hubicka,Libor Machala,Robin Kirchgeorg,Ning Liu,Lei Wang,Kiyoung Lee,J. Olejníček,Martin Cada,Ivan Gregora,Radek Zboril +11 more
TL;DR: The developed fine-tuning of crystal orientation having a huge impact on the photoefficiency would induce further improvement of thin hematite films mainly if cation doping will be combined with the controllable texture.
