TL;DR: This pilot study has demonstrated for the first time that NAI may impact on PMR post-CHMI in a detectable fashion and could be used to assess the efficacy of malaria vaccines and drugs in African populations.
Journal ArticleDOI
Development and validation of response markers to predict survival and pleurodesis success in patients with malignant pleural effusion (PROMISE): a multicohort analysis.
Ioannis Psallidas,Ioannis Psallidas,Nikolaos I. Kanellakis,Nikolaos I. Kanellakis,Stephen Gerry,Marie L. Thézénas,Philip D. Charles,Anastasia Samsonova,Anastasia Samsonova,Herbert B. TL;DR: The PROMISE score is the first prospectively validated prognostic model for malignant pleural effusion that combines biological and clinical parameters to accurately estimate 3-month mortality.

TL;DR: The high level of sterile efficacy observed in this trial is encouraging for further evaluation of combination approaches using these vaccine types.
Journal ArticleDOI
The National Early Warning Score 2 (NEWS2)
Gary B. Smith,Oliver C. Redfern,Marco A. F. Pimentel,Stephen Gerry,Gary S. Collins,James Malycha,David Prytherch,Paul E. Schmidt,Peter J. Watkinson +8 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that the recent modification of the National Early Warning Score – NEWS2 – prove less sensitive than NEWS in identifying in-hospital death for patients with acute exacerbations of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (AECOPD).
Journal ArticleDOI
Gestation-Specific Vital Sign Reference Ranges in Pregnancy
Lauren J. Green,Lucy Mackillop,Dario Salvi,Rebecca M. Pullon,Lise Loerup,Lionel Tarassenko,Jude Mossop,Clare Edwards,Stephen Gerry,Jacqueline Birks,Rupert Gauntlett,Kate Harding,Lucy C Chappell,Peter J. Watkinson +13 more
TL;DR: The findings refute the existence of a clinically significant BP drop from 12 weeks of gestation, and present widely relevant, gestation-specific reference ranges for detecting abnormal BP, heart rate, respiratory rate, oxygen saturation and temperature during pregnancy.
