Targeted Intraceptor Nanoparticle Therapy Reduces Angiogenesis and Fibrosis in Primate and Murine Macular Degeneration
Ling Luo,Xiaohui Zhang,Yoshio Hirano,Puneet Tyagi,Peter Barabas,Hironori Uehara,Tadashi R. Miya,Nirbhai Singh,Bonnie Archer,Yureeda Qazi,Kyle Jackman,Subrata Das,Thomas Olsen,Srinivas Rao Chennamaneni,Brian C. Stagg,Faisal Ahmed,Lyska Emerson,Kristen Zygmunt,Ross T. Whitaker,Christina Mamalis,Wei Huang,Guangping Gao,Sangly P. Srinivas,David Krizaj,Judit Z. Baffi,Jayakrishna Ambati,Uday B. Kompella,Balamurali K. Ambati +27 more
TL;DR: It is shown that a single intravenous injection of targeted, biodegradable nanoparticles delivering a recombinant Flt23k intraceptor plasmid homes to neovascular lesions in the retina and regresses CNV in primate and murine AMD models suppressed subretinal fibrosis, which is currently not addressed by clinical therapies.
Journal ArticleDOI
Transport properties of polypyrrole–ferric oxide conducting nanocomposites
TL;DR: In this paper, Mott's variable range hopping mechanism was used to measure the dc and ac conductivity of colloidal ferric oxide particles with conducting polypyrrole and showed that the dc component of the conductivity increases almost linearly as predicted by the quantum mechanical tunneling model.
Journal ArticleDOI
Photoreceptor avascular privilege is shielded by soluble VEGF receptor-1.
Ling Luo,Hironori Uehara,Xiaohui Zhang,Subrata Das,Thomas Olsen,Derick G. Holt,Jacquelyn M. Simonis,Kyle Jackman,Nirbhai Singh,Tadashi R. Miya,Wei Huang,Faisal Ahmed,Ana Bastos-Carvalho,Yun-Zheng Le,Christina Mamalis,Vince A. Chiodo,William W. Hauswirth,Judit Z. Baffi,Pedro Miguel Lacal,Angela Orecchia,Napoleone Ferrara,Guangping Gao,Guangping Gao,Kim Young-hee,Yingbin Fu,Leah A. Owen,Romulo Albuquerque,Wolfgang Baehr,Kirk R. Thomas,Dean Y. Li,Kakarla V. Chalam,Masabumi Shibuya,Salvatore Grisanti,David J. Wilson,Jayakrishna Ambati,Balamurali K. Ambati +35 more
TL;DR: It is shown that sFLT-1, an endogenous inhibitor of vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF-A), is synthesized by photoreceptors and retinal pigment epithelium (RPE), and is decreased in human AMD, which helps explain the vascular zoning of the retina, which is critical for vision.
Journal ArticleDOI
Production of amylase in liquid culture by a strain of Aspergillus oryzae.
A. K. Kundu,Subrata Das +1 more
TL;DR: Depending upon the composition of the medium and growth conditions, the fungus was found to secrete alpha- or beta-amylase, or both, and some of the properties of the partially purified alpha- amylase were found to be different from alpha-amymylases from other sources.
Journal ArticleDOI
Two Polymorphic Forms of a Six-Coordinate Mononuclear Cobalt(II) Complex with Easy-Plane Anisotropy: Structural Features, Theoretical Calculations, and Field-Induced Slow Relaxation of the Magnetization
Subhadip Roy,Itziar Oyarzabal,Julia Vallejo,Joan Cano,Enrique Colacio,Antonio Bauzá,Antonio Frontera,Alexander M. Kirillov,Michael G. B. Drew,Subrata Das +9 more
TL;DR: The analysis of the whole magnetic data allows the conclusion that the magnetization relaxation in these polymorphs mainly takes place through a virtual excited state (Raman process); despite the notable difference between the supramolecular networks of 1 and 2, they exhibit almost identical magnetization dynamics.
