Journal ArticleDOI
Competition between helimagnetism and commensurate quantum spin correlations in LiCu2O2.
TL;DR: It is proposed that long-range ordering in LiCu2O2 is facilitated by intrinsic nonstoichiometry, and the spin structure is found to be helimagnetic, with a propagation vector that is attributed to a competition between incommensurate helimagnetism in the classical spin model and commensurability in the quantum case.
Journal ArticleDOI
Dynamics of composite haldane spin chains in IPA-CuCl3.
TL;DR: Magnetic excitations in the quasi-one-dimensional antiferromagnet IPA-CuCl3 are studied by cold neutron inelastic scattering and show a sharp cutoff of the single-magnon spectrum at a certain critical wave vector.
Journal ArticleDOI
Spin waves and magnetic interactions in LiCu2O2
Takatsugu Masuda,Andrey Zheludev,B. Roessli,Alexander A. Bush,M.M. Markina,Alexander N. Vasiliev +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, the dispersion relation of spin wave excitations was measured in the vicinity of the principal magnetic Bragg reflection and a spin wave theoretical analysis of the data yields an estimate of the relevant exchange constants and explains the mechanism of geometric frustration that leads to helimagnetism.
Journal ArticleDOI
Establishing the carrier scattering phase diagram for ZrNiSn-based half-Heusler thermoelectric materials
Qingyong Ren,Chenguang Fu,Qinyi Qiu,Shengnan Dai,Zheyuan Liu,Takatsugu Masuda,Shinichiro Asai,Masato Hagihala,Sanghyun Lee,Shuki Torri,Takashi Kamiyama,Takashi Kamiyama,Lunhua He,Xin Tong,Claudia Felser,David J. Singh,Tiejun Zhu,Jiong Yang,Jie Ma,Jie Ma +19 more
TL;DR: It is found that chemical doping brings strong screening effects to ionized impurities, grain boundary, and polar optical phonon scattering, but has negligible influence on lattice thermal conductivity.
Journal ArticleDOI
Magnetic excitations in coupled Haldane spin chains near the quantum critical point
Andrey Zheludev,Takatsugu Masuda,Ichiro Tsukada,Yasunobu Uchiyama,Kunimitsu Uchinokura,Peter Böni,Seunghun Lee +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, two quasi-one-dimensional quantum antiferromagnetic materials, PbNi and SrNi, were studied by inelastic neutron scattering on powder samples.
