Acute effects of various fast-food meals on vascular function and cardiovascular disease risk markers: the Hamburg Burger Trial
Tanja K. Rudolph,Kaike Ruempler,Edzard Schwedhelm,Jing Tan-Andresen,Ulrich Riederer,Rainer H. Böger,Renke Maas +6 more
TL;DR: Against common expectations, a conventional beef burger meal and presumably healthier alternatives with or without vitamin-rich side orders did not differ significantly in their acute effects on vascular reactivity.

Abstract 1704: Nitro-Fatty Acid Inhibition of Neointima Formation after Endoluminal Vessel Injury
Journal ArticleDOI
The SAVI-TF Registry: 1-Year Outcomes of the European Post-Market Registry Using the ACURATE neo Transcatheter Heart Valve Under Real-World Conditions in 1,000 Patients
Won-Keun Kim,Christian Hengstenberg,Michael Hilker,Sebastian Kerber,Ulrich Schäfer,Tanja K. Rudolph,Axel Linke,Norbert Franz,Thomas Kuntze,Holger Nef,Utz Kappert,Michael O Zembala,Stefan Toggweiler,Thomas Walther,Helge Möllmann +14 more
TL;DR: Transfemoral implantation of the ACURATE neo prosthesis resulted in favorable 1-year clinical and echocardiographic outcomes with very low mortality and new pacemaker rates.
Journal ArticleDOI
Myeloperoxidase Mediates Postischemic Arrhythmogenic Ventricular Remodeling
Martin Mollenhauer,Kai Friedrichs,Max Lange,Jan Gesenberg,Lisa Remane,Christina Kerkenpaß,Jenny Krause,Johanna Schneider,Thorben Ravekes,Martina Maass,Marcel Halbach,Gabriel Peinkofer,Tomo Saric,Dennis Mehrkens,Matti Adam,Florian Deuschl,Denise Lau,Birgit Geertz,Kashish Manchanda,Thomas Eschenhagen,Lukáš Kubala,Tanja K. Rudolph,Yuping Wu,W.H. Wilson Tang,Stanley L. Hazen,Stephan Baldus,Anna Klinke,Volker Rudolph +27 more
TL;DR: B baseline myeloperoxidase plasma levels were independently associated with a history of ventricular arrhythmias, sudden cardiac death, or implantable cardioverter–defibrillator implantation in a cohort of 2622 stable patients with an ejection fraction >35% undergoing elective diagnostic cardiac evaluation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Electrophilic Fatty Acids Regulate Matrix Metalloproteinase Activity and Expression
Gustavo Bonacci,Francisco J. Schopfer,Carlos Batthyány,Tanja K. Rudolph,Volker Rudolph,Nicholas K.H. Khoo,Eric E. Kelley,Bruce A. Freeman +7 more
TL;DR: Findings reveal that electrophilic fatty acid derivatives can serve as effectors during inflammation, first by activating pro-MMP proteolytic activity via alkylation of the cysteine switch domain, and then by transcriptionally inhibiting MMP expression, thereby limiting the further progression of inflammatory processes.
