Journal ArticleDOI
Messenger RNA for FOXP3 in the Urine of Renal-Allograft Recipients
Thangamani Muthukumar,Darshana Dadhania,Ruchuang Ding,Catherine Snopkowski,Rubina Naqvi,Jun Lee,Choli Hartono,Baogui Li,Vijay K. Sharma,Surya V. Seshan,Sandip Kapur,Wayne W. Hancock,Joseph E. Schwartz,Manikkam Suthanthiran +13 more
TL;DR: Measurement of FOXP3 mRNA in urine may offer a noninvasive means of improving the prediction of outcome of acute rejection of renal transplants and identify subjects at risk for graft failure within six months after the incident episode of acute rejected.
Journal ArticleDOI
The Banff 2015 Kidney Meeting Report: Current Challenges in Rejection Classification and Prospects for Adopting Molecular Pathology.
Alexandre Loupy,Mark Haas,Kim Solez,Lorraine C. Racusen,Denis Glotz,Daniel Serón,Brian J. Nankivell,Robert B. Colvin,Marjan Afrouzian,Enver Akalin,Nada Alachkar,Serena M. Bagnasco,Jan U. Becker,Lynn D. Cornell,Cinthia B. Drachenberg,Duska Dragun,H. de Kort,Ian W. Gibson,Edward S. Kraus,Carmen Lefaucheur,Ch. Legendre,Helen Liapis,Thangamani Muthukumar,Volker Nickeleit,Babak J. TL;DR: Improved definitions of TCMR and ABMR in pancreas transplants with specification of vascular lesions and prospects for defining a vascularized composite allograft rejection classification are included.
Journal ArticleDOI
Urinary-Cell mRNA Profile and Acute Cellular Rejection in Kidney Allografts
Manikkam Suthanthiran,Joseph E. Schwartz,Ruchuang Ding,Michael Abecassis,Darshana Dadhania,Benjamin Samstein,Stuart J. Knechtle,John J. Friedewald,Yolanda T. Becker,Vijay K. Sharma,N. Williams,C. Chang,Christine Hoang,Thangamani Muthukumar,Phyllis August,Karen Keslar,Robert L. Fairchild,Donald E. Hricik,Peter S. Heeger,Leiya Han,Jun Liu,Michael Riggs,David Ikle,Nancy D. Bridges,Abraham Shaked +24 more
TL;DR: A molecular signature of CD3ε mRNA, IP-10 mRNA, and 18S rRNA levels in urinary cells appears to be diagnostic and prognostic of acute cellular rejection in kidney allografts.
Journal ArticleDOI
Noninvasive detection of renal allograft inflammation by measurements of mRNA for IP-10 and CXCR3 in urine.
Ravi Raju Tatapudi,Thangamani Muthukumar,Thangamani Muthukumar,Darshana Dadhania,Darshana Dadhania,Ruchuang Ding,Ruchuang Ding,Baogui Li,Baogui Li,Vijay K. Sharma,Vijay K. Seshan,Sandip Kapur,Sandip Kapur,Wayne W. Hancock,Wayne W. Hancock,Manikkam Suthanthiran,Manikkam Suthanthiran +26 more
TL;DR: This investigation demonstrates that intragraft cellular events associated with acute rejection of human renal allografts can be noninvasively identified by measurements of mRNA for IP-10 and CXCR3 in urinary cells.
Journal ArticleDOI
Treatment-related acute renal failure in the elderly: a hospital-based prospective study
Harbir Singh Kohli,Madhu C. Bhaskaran,Thangamani Muthukumar,Kandavel Thennarasu,Kamal Sud,Vivekanand Jha,Krishan Lal Gupta,Vinay Sakhuja +7 more
TL;DR: Investigation of treatment-related acute renal failure in the elderly was 1.4%, with more than one pathogenetic factor playing a role in the development of ARF in the majority, and Sepsis, hypotension, and oliguria were the independent predictors of poor patient outcome.
